Obama: 'Only one way out' of shutdown
(CNN) - President Barack Obama went on a rhetorical offensive against House Republicans on the third day of the federal government shutdown, telling a crowd in Maryland Thursday that there's only one party at fault and one remedy.
"There are enough Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives today that if the speaker of the House, John Boehner, simply let the bill get on the floor for an up or down vote, every congressman could vote their conscience, the shutdown would end today," Obama said in a speech in Rockville, Maryland.

The President is correct of course, unfortunately problem-solving is not what the GOP is about. They like this chaos, they like the damage they are doing (they promised it for 3 years).
The GOP moderates need to take back their party now, or the GOP as a whole will face the consequences of their illegal and ill-advised actions.

Once again Obama did not address the real fact of why congress has shutdown the government and that is because he will not grant a delay for the American people just as he has His friends, family, collegues, and Big Buisness. He claims that the GOP is acting childish when in fact he is the first to stand in front of the country and call names and make untrue remarks. Obama all you have to do is grant the same delay for us average Americans as you have your friends, is that too much to ask? I think not! What is good for us average folk should be good enough for you and yours. Quit trying to turn our democracy into a socialist government.

Boehner has no guts. He and his caucus care nothing for the American people. Show some grit Speaker Boehner – put the CR on the floor and let the people's representatives vote. Nothing you can say or do is going to defund Obamacare – wake up and accept reality! It's the law of the land – deal with it. If you and your party keep this up, you will be nothing but history come November 2014.

Any CR that contains funding for the dirty rotten lie filled Obamacare is NOT "clean". I commend House Republicans for defunding this deceitful pack of lies that was forced on the American people by the far left extremist Democrat/Communist/Socialist Party.
The President MUST hold firm..it is not about him, it is not about the Affordable Care Act, IT IS ABOUT HOW AMERICAS BUDGETARY DISAGREEMENTS WILL BE DEALT WITH IN THE FUTURE.
There are many Republicans who do not want to understand how this last minute borderline blackmailing maneuver is an extremely dangerous way to conduct our business. How would they reactive if the role was reversed and 30 democrats in a Democrats in a Democratically led house decided they would not allow a vote on the floor to raise the debt ceiling unless the Republican President agreed to raise the taxes on the richest Americans by 15%!!! A huge number of Americans would not have a problem with that...but it would be the WRONG way to attempt to get it done. You see you can not run a government this way.
STAND STRONG Mr. President, it's going to get ugly but we need to rid ourselves of these destructive antics.

No he didn't. You're taking the quote out of the context of everything else he was saying just so you can and misrepresent it.
Obama should not get a paycheck or anyone else in a elected goverment offical that recieves a paycheck. It is only fair that they all go and do there job for the and resolve the issues that are affecting so many American citizens.
And for our Presidents remarks on not talking to resolve all the issues and that all has to be his way and no other way is wrong and he was not put into office to run the country this way. I am a Democrat and will never vote for him or anyone that is affilated with him. I am ashamed that our leaders are taking our rights away and treat all of us like we are nothing.
The major question is trying to defund the Affordable Care Act have a greater opportunity cost than funding the Federal government? The answer is NO! The economy needs to continue to grow and we can fix provisions in the Affordable Care Act. This is what a legislator does.
What are we really asking the President to do? It is the job of Congress to pass a budget. They have FAILED. They need to fix it. The President has provided his guidance like an Executive should. In most jobs they would be fired for failure to perform.

1. Deliberately hamper recovery via massive obstruction, refusal to legislate on anything regarding the economy or jobs, pass nothing but symbolic domestic social legislation and 46 attempts to destroy the POTUS signature legislation, manufacture recurring crises so you can play hostage games, send ransom letters offering only to do your job if you get your way, repeatedly arrange threats of government shutdowns, repeatedly arrange threats to allow the nation to default on its debts, etc. etc. etc.
2. Watch as the economy measurably and provably responds in a negative manner to your actions.
3. Cite the bad statistics you caused as proof that the economy is not recovering.

4. Get corrected for it.
