House Speaker John Boehner demands cuts for debt limit increase
(CNN) - House Republicans won't support raising the federal government's borrowing limit without new spending cuts from the Obama administration, and the White House risks an unprecedented U.S. default by refusing, House Speaker John Boehner said Sunday.
Speaking six days into a partial government shutdown and 11 days before the Treasury Department expects to hit its statutory debt ceiling, Boehner told ABC's "This Week" that he wants "a serious conversation" about spending, but no tax increases.

It appears that House Speaker Boehner does not want his job. He keeps listening to his fellow Republicans and it really is not doing him any good. Adios John Boehner. If you can believe what Ted Cruz is saying you are a pretty gallable man. He is bring you down with him. The American people are thinking Congress is the worst it has ever been, why don't you do something to fix it. The shutdown and not adjusting the debt ceiling is not the way to go. You are hurting the people that vote you in office. You are not winning you are losing. Too bad so sad.

Children kept on parent's insurance until 26; senior prescription donut hole closed to the tune of $2-$3K a year; insurance companies cannot deny you conversge for pre existing conditions and they can't literally pull the plug on you with spending ceilings for cancer or catastrophic illnesses. Woman with MS who was paying $1,200 a month for insurance will now pay $300.
You want to tell me what is wrong with that? I hope you never get sick or break a bone or have an accident and need insurance coverage.

HELL NO! they want the president to compromise: the president COMPROMISED on the sequester. he COMPROMISED on health care reform when he gave up on the public option in favor of PRIVATE INSURANCE providing health care. i remember the health care debate and the liberals were ready to throw the president overboard because he COMPROMISED with the republicans. if you think the tea party represents regular people then you need your head examined. make no mistake about it..this current group of 30-40 GOP fascists are walking our country right into the abyss.

Boehner has gone completely over the edge. He needs to be removed from his speakership immediately. His lack of sanity is damaging the nation.
The biggest problem with this "position" being presented by Speaker Boehner is if you check the record there was a budget passed by the House, The Senate, and the President close to 6 months ago. In "normal" situations the House and the Senate would have went into conference within 2 to 4 weeks in an effort to reach "compromises" on budgetary numbers they don't agree on. This did not happen this year, because the Tea Party Republicans did not trust either the Democrats or members in their own party to reach numbers THEY wanted. So all three of the proposed budgets laid idle until the Tea Party Republicans could "cherry pick" the items they disliked and have the threat of a government shut down to "force" the President into giving in to their ideas. They have underestimated the President, he is extremely annoyed with their using the nations economy as a bargaining chip. The President MUST stand firm, no negotiation until Speaker Boehner allows the House to vote on a clean C.R. and Debt Ceiling Bill. If the Congress rejects either one, then and ONLY then should the President change his position!!
"No Balls" Boehner is about to lose his job. He is the worst Speaker of the House in the history of the US. Instead of standing up to the tea party, he capitulates. The tea party Taliban can't even start their own party. They have infected the Republican party and are ruining our country.
