Debt ceiling debate: Preaching to the choir
Washington (CNN) - Next up: the debt ceiling.
The White House continues to issue dire warnings about the economic consequences should Congress fail to raise the debt ceiling this month. President Barack Obama told Wall Street to be "concerned" and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Congress is "playing with fire."

obama is playing with fire with his refusal to negotiate. i guess he feels his presidency has been a complete failure anyways so what the heck, let's just set the whole country on fire and then nobody will notice.
Negotiations Tea Party style-
Teabaggers- Okay, we will do what the American people are paying us to do, but you have to kill your daughters.
Dems- That's just crazy?
Teabaggers- Wah, quit calling us names. You are impeding our negotiaions. No... okay, you don't have to kill both your daughters, but you have to stab one of them in the face and give me a milk dud, then we will do our job.
Dems- I don't think so.
Teabaggers- The President refuses to negotiate.

Ah yes, the old plenty of blame to go around. Watching CNN one night and one of the Dems complained about this 'balanced' approach they like to use, so as to not be labeled the 'liberal media' (yea, like that's going to happen). The Dem uses the example of the SC Rep -Joe Wilson hollering 'You Lie!' at the President during the nationally televised SOTHU address... the moderator's reply was that there are some Democratic bloggers name calling on some sites.
Really? A US legislator says it on National TV and that is equivilant to the StanUSAman on twitter calling the teabaggers, teabaggers?!?

I do...chocolate and caramel is nom nom. However, I must point out that the mil duds I demand do not require that we keep 48M people uninsured.
To those that think the MSM skews right I ask them to look at the stats. It's not even close. You are so bitterly partisan that even common sense with regards to the percentage of dems vs repubs that are journalists gets you all worked up. Just goog "percentage of journalists that are democrat" and I think you will see the answer. It's. Not. Even. Close.

You don't get it. The problem isn't some divide between the Right and the Left, its the divide within the Right. There are perfectly reasonable members of the GOP in the House who would vote to stop this insanity- The TEA PArty however wants the trainwreck. There is NO ONE for the President to negotiate with. Boehner is an empty suit who cannot and has not fulfilled even one of his promises, and the House TPs are taking their orders from Cruz, who cannot negotiate for the House. No, sir, until the Right gets its act together, the unfortunate truth is they are in charge,. They called for the shutdown and they got it.

Congress is supposed to pass a budget and be fiscally responsible doing so, The House will not negotiate with the Senate which is their job. The Senate has sent bills back to the House and the House continues to make "Obamacare" a part of this debate. There is a law about healthcare which must be repealed IF Congress decided to do so . Clearly all the Republicans do is say they want to defund it which is not realistic. Of course they have already voted over 40 times on resolutions about "Obamacare" and lost every time.
It is time to pass a CCR and regardless of what Speaker Boehner says the House has the votes to do so. Instead Speaker Boehner is like the man in the clock who comes out on the hour and then goes back in. No one knows what he really does anyway. However, we do know that the Members of Congress are being paid and they do not seem to care that other people are being financially hurt by the shutdown. Just vote already and then move on to the Debt Ceiling. Sit down withthe PResident and hamnmer out a deal. THat is their job and they need to get it donw.
