On shutdown's 9th day, survivors of fallen troops take center stage

Washington (CNN) - When Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel visits Dover Air Force Base Wednesday, he won't just be honoring troops killed in Afghanistan. His presence will also send a message about the government shutdown.

Hagel will attend a ceremony for the return of soldiers' remains - at a time the families of those service members are not receiving the standard benefits typically given to them.

No benefits for widows of our soldiers, and salmonella outbreaks.

How's that shutdown workin' out for ya, rebels? The GOP's agenda for America: grieving and throwing up while destitute.

Truly sad, congress needs to push an urgent bill to fund all aspects of the military not just active duty members. Some of my fellow vets are already getting uneasy about their benefits. Both the GOP and DNC need to work on this urgent issue.

We all know big money in politics is bad for the rest of us, so why is McConnell arguing a case to the supreme court, he is going to remove all restrictions on campaign finance, and the five conservative judges agree its an infringement of ones right to free speech, in other words, government for sale

That is entirely political, designed to make things look worse to the public than they really are.

This is a disgrace!!! You can bet the Administration will be paid and so will Congress. All these people and their assistancts should go without pay till they sitdown and clean up their mess. All the parks and memorials belong to us and should be open!!!
