(CNN) - Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on Thursday was sentenced to 28 years in prison after he was convicted in March of two dozen federal charges.
The charges include racketeering, extortion and the filing of false tax returns. He was accused of using the mayor's office to enrich himself and associates.
FULL STORY
Is it going to be a country club prison or one like the rest of us would have to go to, if we had done the same deeds? Bet he'll have to make reservations for time on the tennis court, days in advance.
Not good, dude. "See ya'. Wouldn't wanna be ya'." Look at it this way. You don't have to worry about retirement, anymore.

Kilpatrick is a Dummy.
They gave you football numbers Kwame. Enjoy Club Fed.
Good riddance.
Nice cufflinks !
I wish corruption sentences and punishment were outsourced to China , then again corruption in China is a way of life .

How many Democrooks are going to have to end up behind bars for their corruption and thieveyr before the American people wake up and smell the stinkin grotten corruption of the Democrat Party?

Oh yawn. Meanwhile, Gov. McDonnell (R-VA) is about to be indicted. Grow up. Bad people exist everywhere. Corruption is a bipartisan problem.
being a corrupt white politician = 3 years of prison, and sentence overturned before you set foot in prison
being a corrupt black politician = 28 years in prison and a promise by the country to hang everyone with the same skin color.
Go figure.
And this is one of the glaring reasons why Detriot is where it is today. And yet they continue to elect Democrats over and over and then wonder why things are only getting worse. I guess because there is always somebody or something else to blame and distract the clueless voters.
Sound familiar America???
Rudy summarized
I differentiate it a little differently. "The Republicans started out with an agreement to set the spending levels where the Republicans wanted in 'in return' for a clean bill that the Democrats wanted. It was all good until Boehner was bullied by the Tea Party into adding the 'Defund Obamacare' amendment to it, which the Senate promptly removed and sent back to the House." In other words, the "Defund Obamacare" amendment amounted to a major renege by the Tea Party, not the Republicans. The Republicans had just simply rolled over and surrendered to the Tea Party.
-------------------------------------------------
I remember Boehner starting out by NOT including Obamacare in the negotiations. Unfortunately that only lasted two seconds. As soon as he came back to the House the cray-crays jumped all over the illustruous Speaker like piranha on a pork roast. He promptly caved. I don't even think they had to twist his arm. He folded like a cheap chair. He knows who fills his coffers and evidently it isn't the "little people".
Sniffit pointed out that evidently they switched the House Rules on Septmber 30th further preventing anyone from calling for a rational up and down vote on what the Senate proposed. They've been planning this for quite sometime.
The Tea Party,it is worth mentioning, is nothing more than the extremist arm of the Republican Party. They share the same ideologies but one is way the f out there and the other is barely hanging on to any semblance of decency and patriotism. They are one and the same.
When you elect a Teatard you've in effect augmented the number of Republicans in the chamber. Let's get that straight.
The name Teat Party is conveniently used when they want to "distance" themselves from their alter egos.
That is all.
That should've been Tea Party not "Teat Party", although it is one and the same.
Freudian slip.

The Republicans are the people who've been calling for a clean funding bill. The Tea Partiers are the people who campaigned on shutting down the government and never raising the debt ceiling. I admit, though, that some Republicans seem to have been completely assimilated by the Tea Party: i.e. Sen. Coburn. "We can have a managed catastrophe if we don't raise the debt ceiling."
"Teat party"
Never happens to me anymore. I hate being middle-aged!
As to the ex-mayor: he got caught.
He'll be held up as an example to those currently getting rich off the system as to what happens when you're stupid enough to get caught.
The lesson has moved from "Don't do it" to "Don't get caught".
God darn shame ain't it?
LOL – that doesn't matter – he will be 1 of 3 that will end up getting pardoned, when December 2016 rolls around.
the other 2 are :
O.J. – – he's too old to do anything to anyone now – once he gets out, he will go golfing for the rest of his life, and not bother anyone...
Blago.......besides Blago isn't a real criminal anyway....all he wanted to do was to sell Obama's seat to the highest bidder, and he got caught.
I think that what the Republicans are doing to our country is more criminal than what this former Mayor did even though he get what he deserve, the gop/teabaggers on the other hand should be tried for treason, and if found gulity sentenced to death. Finding them guilty will not be very hard with all the press appearance they made convicting themselves.

Yeah, except unlike rethugs, when Dems break the law they get booted from office, ostracized by the Dem party and actually go to jail. Rethugs are feted by their reichwing brethern who whine and cry that it's the "librul media's fault" their guy is in hot water. When they get convicted of a crime and go to jail, their deep pocketed owners pay off a judge to make the conviction go away – then the former convict runs for office again and wins!
Good, he deserve worse.
Knowing he could get caught (he was black then), he chose to break the law (still being black) so accept the punishment as a man, (not a black man).
