Boehner urges House GOP to support Senate deal

Washinton (CNN) - Senate leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default, and House Speaker John Boehner urged fellow Republicans to support it while a key GOP conservative said he wouldn't try to block it in the Senate.

"We fought the good fight; we just didn't win," Boehner told a radio station in his home state of Ohio in reference to GOP efforts to dismantle or defund President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms and extract deficit reduction concessions around the need to fund the government and raise the federal borrowing limit.

Will the American Public have to go through this hell again next January and February. This lunacy by congress cannot continue, the public have had enough. Therefore, I propose that all members of congress sign a pledge to not hold the public hostage by threatening a government shutdown or default. All legislation should go through the normal process and not be part of any "deal" to keep the government open or defaulting on spending already obligated! Restore sanity in congress!

I think these next elections coming up may show some surprises. Including the next presidential election. At no other time in recent history has the Libertarian party stood a better chance of getting elected than now. I think Americans are fed up with *both* parties and ready for a big change.

Lets all vote for an unlimited debt ceiling. There now, all better. Democrats will live in heavenly bliss! Lets all vote for a pure Democracy (careful for what you wish for),Oh, wait a minute – you will not be allowed to.Lets all vote for FREE MEDICAL, FREE HOUSING, FREE FOOD, FREE CLOTHING and above all abolish FREEDOM of CHOICE – no worries there, you already lost that freedom (AHCA) and who says extortion is not live and well from the U.S. Government to the populace. I wonder, who will pay for all this? Other countries will not, the rich and wealthy will not, the unwilling will not. Hmmm, that does not leave very many people left. I wonder what your dinner plate will look like after the nation is completely Socialized? Better ask the Canadians, the English, the Cubans, the Mexicans, etc. You will love your new change and will feel very enriched knowing you saved the world by working so hard in order for the unwilling to not have to.

As someone who has had to insure themselves for nearly 10 years despite working two jobs, if you don't think things needed to change dramatically with health care coverage, you are a foooooool of the first magnitude.

Finally if you reach deal than why all Senators and Congressman and women waste our tax dollar money. Why you did not fix first time?

Unbelieveable! What happens when they run out of money again or can't come up with a solution and they spend the money that we don't have and are more in debt! Our government is a joke and we all just sat back and watched it unfold with no protests or having them hear the American voices. "We the people are in charge folks!!!" This is not a dictatorship or a free loaders boat.

Headline should read, "Senate reaches deal to throw country further into debt, avoid chance of ever paying it back".
The borrower is servant to the lender.... God.

People, there will be another glitch in the system and there will be no explanation as to why you owe so much or why you're not getting a return.

Of course Obama and the Democrats STILL want to continue looking the other way and putting their heads in the ground HOPING the debt will just mysteriously go away. But it won't. We are STILL in a crisis with the debt and continuing to ADD to it will only make it worse. NOBODY is going to continue lending us money. They are STUPID if they do. This country is doomed with it's current leadership.

What irritates me most about Republicans is that their definition of an American is a tea party conservative. Nobody else is an American according to them. That's why when they say Americans don't want this or that they really mean tea party people don't want this or that and we don't care in the slightest bit what anybody else thinks because they aren't Americans like us.

We cannot continue to give money to ppl that produce nothing. That will
Lead to taking everything from those that do produce. When they are tapped out, then what.

What a waste of time. Republicans got nothing, which is a missed opportunity to address yet another debt ceiling increase and push for needed changes to Obamacare. I agree with re-opening the government, the repubs never should have shut down the government over Obamacare but they were right in insisting there be changes (at very least reverse the exemptions, let everyone have the same care and repeal the idiotic medical device tax that trickles down to the people). The focus now needs to be on ammending Obamacare and addressing the massively increasing deficit.

Why couldn't those without healthcare that need it go through the Medicare program? If you want to see how a socialized medicine goes, check the fraud rate of THAT program!
Do the math! For two individuals, one most ill the other healthy, by the time the insurance company determines a good premium rate to cover the expenses of the unhealthy individual, rates skyrocket to keep the program afloat. Obama lied to the American's about what we wouldn't be taxed on, he is leading all the sheep to the edge of the cliff and no one is standing up to defend the screaming taxpayers!

These comments make me understand what seriuos trouble this country is in. Both parties are to blame and this country is broke. If we stop now we might be back to normal in 15 years. But I don't think that is going to happen. Not if, but when. Either we are going to default or taxes are going to be raised by double digits. Feel sorry for the middle class. Whatever is left of them.

Republicans disapproval ratings up 11 points since September. Now at 74%.

The public absolutely HATES the GOP. Seems their only supporters are the Tea Party fringe.

How in the hell could Cruz block the vote anyway? If they reach cloture, through 60 votes, it goes for a vote whether that bonehead likes it or not.

    Dear Dusty Ones,

Goodbye, good riddance, don't let the door hit you on your way out.
There's a word that describes selfish, greedy people like you who profit while others fight and die for your freedom:

I would like to just state the the element in congress that is dragging this nation down are the same freshmen that were elected under the guise of 'the career politicians must be replaced with people who are not out of touch". Ironic. We brought in 'fresh faces' and all they did was drag us down: Maybe next time we can elect SMART fresh faces- maybe with some big ol fancy degrees that mean they have some basic understanding of how an economy really works and not just little piggy bank witticisms and slogans

The USA chases and captures terrorist all over the world who sole purpose is to destroy America.. But when we have one right here in our own back yard we call them politicians.
Ted Cruz should be removed from politics and not be allowed to operate and receive airtime to poison the minds of loyal Americans with his cartoonish beliefs that he can take over the country.
He appears on tv with a crap eating grin on his face, and we are supposed to let him speak for the people??????
He is half Cuban and he wants to be an all American"White Boy".
He is being bankrolled by the undercover powers that hide behind the scenes.
Please make this clown go away..
