Boehner urges House GOP to support Senate deal

Washinton (CNN) - Senate leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default, and House Speaker John Boehner urged fellow Republicans to support it while a key GOP conservative said he wouldn't try to block it in the Senate.

"We fought the good fight; we just didn't win," Boehner told a radio station in his home state of Ohio in reference to GOP efforts to dismantle or defund President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms and extract deficit reduction concessions around the need to fund the government and raise the federal borrowing limit.

I find it so annoying that people feel like our rights are being taken away. What rights of yours have been stolen....that have affected you at such a high magnitude? None. If you don't like this country, then leave.

The GOP strategy was doomed to fail from the start, which reveals a lack of intelligence. You can't mess with Wall Street and the corporations profits, which is what they were doing with the debt ceiling brinksmanship. So they get to go home with nothing, utterly defeated. Obama correctly diagnosed this and stuck his foot on the GOP's neck. There are no good guys in this pageant, everyone is looking after their own interests. The GOP however is working hard to become nonviable as a political party. It's just the reality of the situation. If you want accomplish something of substance related to solving the fiscal problems the government has, you have to be smart, and the GOP is becoming dumber by the day.

There was a guy who said the TEA PARTY was created because of Reid, Pelosi, & Obama...and put the blame on them.
I wonder if he realises that Obama won because of Bush's horrible record? So in the end put the blame on the GOP and Bush...because history shows that a black man would have never won unless the status quo rich white men of traditional American government messed up so bad that even traditionalist white folks would just throw up their hands and say, "what the heck, can't do any worse than what Bush and his ilk had done to the country..."

But here's the rub...this half black president with an Arab name actually started to do things that mattered. He caught elusive terrorist leaders who had eluded the Bush era, he brought Affordable Healthcare Act and so many other things...that's why these GOP guys are so ticked. First they get whipped in sports, now they are getting whipped in civics...it's quite embarrassing to say the least.

Is this a racist comment? Some might see it as so. Some might see it as just a hypothesis based on limited observation skills on my part...whatever the case, it is what it is. The GOP have committed suicide by bringing the nation to the brink of destruction just to obstruct a black president. I for one am glad that they went that far because it shows just how much they really don't care about Americans.

Boehner will "allow it"? Did I miss something in civics class?

I agree with what Hugh Gordon said below:

Boehner – "I'll allow it"....says it all. There is no democracy when procedure in the Senate or House empower one person or one small block to control how and when votes are taken. It is time to remove Mr. Boehner and it is time to modify the rules in the House and Senate.

Sad that Obama can push this down the Country's throat. And Democrats can sit here and blame the Republicans for there fault. Its sad when fools in office can run this nation into the ground and fools are happy about it.

The weakest and most incompetent Speaker ever...

What a mess Boehner & his irresponsible TGOP created, causing unnecessary pain in Americans.

Anonymous says: "I hope the Teabaggers get tried for TREASON after this is all done."
You may be kidding but the damage to America is equivalent to a significant terrorist act. We've lost tens of billions of dollars in productivity, the goodwill of a loyal civil service force, and the respect of the political and economic world.

Teapublican Taliban Treasonous (KKK) members, stop burning crosses and bridges. Tar and feather your terrorist leaders and come back into the fold of the sane.

The KKK rapidly grew from a secret social fraternity to a paramilitary force bent on reversing the federal government's progressive Reconstruction Era-activities in the South, especially policies that elevated the rights of the local African American population.

Now replace 'paramilitary' with Teapublicans/NRA/NSSF Gun Wing nuts.

Now replace 'Reconstruction Era-activities' with The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) ,(ObamaCare) , TARP. Any program that President Obama has implemented to undo the damage that the Republican Party and their greedy Wall Street/Corporate Pigs tried to destroy our country with.

Now replace 'African American population with All Minorities, Poor and Middle Class.

The only bigger idiots than Ted Cruz, are the morons in the House who followed his lead. And Boehner should be ashamed of himself for his willingness to subject 800,000 American people and their families to the financial uncertainty of an open-ended furlough for fear of losing his position as Speaker. He could have turned this around weeks ago and become the voice of reason, appealing to moderates in both parties, reached out to Democratic leadership in the House, and taken control of the debate. He chose to back down to a first term senator from TX. Come on, man.

It's amazing that all this was about Obamacare... and then it wasn't. Then it was about the deficit... and then it wasn't. Then is was about... Who knows? An absolutely pointless bullying of Obama. In the end, Republicans can't even tell you why they did this. It's surreal.
