Boehner urges House GOP to support Senate deal

Washinton (CNN) - Senate leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default, and House Speaker John Boehner urged fellow Republicans to support it while a key GOP conservative said he wouldn't try to block it in the Senate.

"We fought the good fight; we just didn't win," Boehner told a radio station in his home state of Ohio in reference to GOP efforts to dismantle or defund President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms and extract deficit reduction concessions around the need to fund the government and raise the federal borrowing limit.

So what they agreed upon was to further ignore the fact that they can't decide on a budget and just pushed it off until after they go on their respective holiday breaks. It just means this same look is going to happen in January. Stop raising the debt ceiling and learn to work within a budget. Start cutting programs that draw on federal funds that are not providing a worthwhile return on investment such as welfare and Obamacare.

Really Boehner...You fought the good fight?...No you didn't fight the good fight. You made a mockery of the government and almost brought us to the brink...

    Problem not solved --just moved
In the end, this will lead to more debt, and finally a bankrupt USA.

Ted Cruz thinks he and he along the self-anointed GREAT ONE (and freshman) mistakenly believe the world revolves around him. He serves at the behest of his superiors and could be taken down before his next latte has foam on it.

How very kind of Mr. Cruz to save America from themselves. We have made ourselves the laughingstock of the world but no worries people do move on and forget eventually. Actually, I am curious as to how he became the controlling factor in our government. I was always under the impression that these folks worked for us and we paid them handsomely with money and untold benefits to listen to us. I just didn't see anyone in favor of this fiasco and heard mostly negative comments and pleas to get the government back to it's usual ho-hum workings. Please enlighten if you can.

Thank goodness for reason and compromise. Senators Reid & McConnell should be commended for taking action and getting this deal done. On the other hand, Senator Cruz should be admonished for trying to take the American economy as hostage, just to increase his net worth to the Tea-baggers.

the nastiness and anger that the typical govt employee democrat has towards the people who founded this nation and protect this nation is appalling. the only people who won are govt employee democrats and rich republicans on wall street. the same groups who always win... the middle class and working class is just being reamed by obamacare, and noone cares. the govt employee dems are so nasty in their defense of this law which is killing the middle class... 400/mo increase in premiums!!! Govt and big business exempt from exchanges? The nastiness and inconsiderate democrats will get what they deserve one day.

When the corporate tax loopholes get closed and the effective tax on Millionaires is higher than the tax on food service employees (including Social Security, Medicare, sales, state, and local tax burdens) there will not be a deficit. No spending cuts for the poor, sick, or elderly are necessary.

“a provision in the deal that strengthens verification measures for people getting subsidies under Obamacare”…
This is too funny: the only provision involving Obamacare is one that “increases Government Intrusion”!! The previously defined way of enforcement was the typical IRS “random audit” approach, now they will have to check “everyone’s” qualifications. Possibly more people will be needed to enforce this! Goood show, GOP!!

Ted Cruz is just trying to get attention. He isn't working with anyone to get anything done, he just wants every one to "look at me"

Cruz has managed to make quite a dirty little name for himself in the last few months. But mostly the phrase

I certainly hope no one is expecting thank yous or pats on the back.
This latest GOPeeing Teatard initiated stunt led by Turd Cruz and cved to by spineless Boehner was one of the MOST irresponsible stunts to date.
We LOST BILLIONS of dollars per day for each day of this nonsense.
Where is the FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY behind that?
Don't come anywhere near me looking for hugs and thanks.

Once again the Bully Democrats and Fall over backward and caver Republicans come through and give the liberals everything they ever wanted. This isn't a bi-partisan deal. It is a complete loss. ObamaCare will continue to roll out like the disaster it is and become the bane of all Americans. Enjoy the skyrocketing healthcare costs folks – this was supposed to be the "cheap" year. Too bad our poloticians and many people can't see that this country is on the brink right now. China steals all of our good developments now through all kinds of network theft. Our country can't spend money responsibly anymore. Work is considered a four letter word. Government is considered to be the answer to all things.
Most people don't want ObamaCare. Why in the hell are our representatives rolling over and subjecting us to this crap! ObamaCare was touted to "only cost" $900 Billion that is now supposed to be 2-3 times that and on top of it we will still pay more and get worse care!

When you have an extremist prez who spends, spends, spends, and has a victim mentality, then our country is going to go farther into debt. Remember when he said that he did not notice the tea party???? One of many lies. He noticed. He noticed. He noticed. He mocked us. Came after us with the NSA, IRS, and every other agency he could strong arm. I have never seen any one LESS professional, let alone presidential. What a shame. If the last election had not been a fraud and stolen, others could have made the difference. Now, we must pray for America.
