Shutdown key issue in special Senate election

(CNN) - New Jersey voters head to the polls on Wednesday in a special U.S. Senate election that's become a proxy fight over the federal government shutdown and the bitter partisan battle in the nation's capital over the rollout of the national health care law.

Wednesday's election between two-term Democratic Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Republican nominee Steve Lonegan will also result in a slight shift in the current balance of power in the Senate.

Lonegan ran through the primary process wearing a tri-cornered hat. Now, all of a sudden, he doesn't even know what one is.

Exactly why Booker should lose. The Dems are trying to destroy the country.

  3. What's in that tea anyway?

Until today, I never knew the Tea Party is synonomous with racism....I obviously suspected that there were elements in the movement that were racist, but line I heard most often was ".....I don't hate Obama, I just hate what he is doing to this country I love" Well today no person associated with the Tea Party can say they love this country...because the hatred for Obama is overwhelming ....forget doing any good for this country....its about destroying Obama and making the american people pay for re-electing him. Pathetic and shameful.

Fact is, he won't. You're always talking about secession, so who is really trying to destroy the country?

I think that Lonegan should understand that his brand of "political/religious" ideology doesn't work well in NJ. His postions don't fit with most residents of NJ (and likely the country). To have a sunset on all regulations ignores the science that they were based on.

Why do we all want to blame the republicans , there both are at fault. Every time the republcans put a bill out ,the democrats rejects it. There need to be a budget cause the democrats just want to spend. They are the one that are driving the deat up. If u dont have a budget the deat will always go up cause the democratic always want more spending. Control all the entitlements and maybe we can get out of the hole.
