Stenographer snaps, rants on House floor

Updated: 2:06 p.m. ET, 10/17/2013

Washington (CNN) – Amid all the chaos of the last-minute deal in Washington, there was an unusual moment on the House floor moments after the bill passed.

A House stenographer and well-known employee calmly took to a microphone and began screaming.

"Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand," she said, according to a House GOP aide. After a few seconds, she was escorted out by the Sergeant-at-Arms, but an audio recording by Todd Zwillich of Public Radio International captured the rest of her rant.

"He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked, (don't touch me) He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been... it would not have been... No. it would not have been... the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons... and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ."

House members and aides were surprised and unsettled by the scene.

"I don't know, she just snapped," said a GOP aide.

CNN's Dana Bash spoke with several staffers who knew the woman well.

"She’s a well-known person, she’s a perfectly nice person, a good colleague, somebody who’s respectable and dependable, and this is very surprising to everybody who works with her," Bash reported on air.

"The Sergeant in Arms didn’t try to stop her because she works there and that’s where she’s situated," Rep. Peter King, R-New York, told Jake Tapper. "And she actually went up behind the podium where the president speaks from. They thought she was going to hand something to the speaker, and then they realized."

Officer Shennell S. Antrobus of Capitol Police told CNN she wasn’t arrested or charged and was transported to a local area hospital by DC Fire for further evaluation.

In terms of an ongoing investigation or further action about the stenographer, Antrobus said no such action will be taken.

"There is nothing more, from our end, that we are going to do," Antrobus said.

–CNN’s Deirdre Walsh, Steve Brusk, Dan Merica and Conor Finnegan contributed to this report.

Honestly, when you heard that somebody was jabbering away nonsensically in the House, didn't you immediately assume it was a Tea Party loon giving a policy position?

Her tirade sounded like a speech at the hateful Value Voters convention put on by Tony Perkins.

The founders of this country seemed very adamant about the separation of religion and government.Wackadoos such as Bachman,Santorum, and this stenographer should save that babble for their Sunday morning performances.

From the rhetoric she expressed isn't too far from the truth of where society is at this moment. alot have vails on so we're more blinded by the media, tabloids and our cell phone than reality. when is the last time you appreciate the sunset or take a walk for yourself and really appreciate the earth God gave us (agnostics and unbelievers may consider different viewpoints yet there is a final answer at the end).
our country has now come to the turning point of self centerness and an obsession of extreme vanity. we forgot in regards of taxation without reprensentation was the main focus of why the revolution war took place. representing the people is a bias approach of who is in DC right now and the consistant lies are worse than a weatherman's forcast. it really up to us to either pick up a remote and change channels or to pick up the cell phone and call your elected officials and continue whShe last left off. enough is enough and we're not going to take it anymore. or are you going to see what myley is doi

The funny thing is that Michelle Bachmann is probably eyeing her as a possible running mate.

She is the only one in the Congress Chamber that speaks for the crazy people.

Bravo, finally the truth is spoken in the Chambers of Congress. Illuminati your days are numbered by our Creator and the New World Order will come but you will not be a participant of it because GOD knows his children and only they will get to inhabit {inherit} the Earth and New Jerusalem. Free Masons around the world be gone already.

I think she was referring to Obama's preferential treatment and funding Muslim organizations (even terrorist ones). This is what set her off.

Did any one else happen to hear "ALLAHU AKBAR" at the end of that woman's speech? Just saying, you don't have to be Muslim to be a religious fanatic, nor am I implying that all Muslims are religious fanatics; but this nation's prejustice against Muslims... well, I hope you see where I'm going with this... crazy religious nut bags.

Another example. De.fended by the evangelicals as sharing "gift of the spirit." Which spirit (and which embellished story)? The one from the Morningstar who rose from hell, to which crazy angry pro-chaos and destruction followers take part in eating flesh, drinking blood, and awaiting the "glorious" day the dead rise? Or just a peace-filled loving spirit that wishes well on fellow man? I know the first is the spirit the evangelicals – tea party – joel's army – salvation army – support; chaos destruction and mocking of peace and love. Wake Up! Repeal HR368 a step toward totalitarianism

Everything she said was the truth. She may not have been following protocol when she approached the podium, but nevertheless, she told the truth. I find it strange that she was taken to the hospital (probably against her will) for "evaluation". When did quoting Scripture become a need to be evaluated. This world is crazy. However, everything done in the dark will come to light. Politicians, the President included, need to be really concerned about the decisions they make. My God is an awesome God and as she said, "He cannot be mocked". We will reap what we sow. That's a fact. And for those who will call me "crazy"...you will certainly find out in the end. Just sayin'.
