HHS chief: President didn't know of Obamacare website woes beforehand

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama didn't know about the problems with the Affordable Care Act's website - despite complaints from insurance companies and the site's crashing during a test run - until days into its now well-documented abysmal launch, the nation's health chief told CNN on Tuesday.

In an exclusive interview with CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted Tuesday that there is significant concern in her department and the White House over the technical debacle surrounding the Obamacare website's rollout. The site was supposed to make it simple for people to search and sign-up for new health care policies starting on October 1, but instead it's been clunky and, at times, inoperable.

Watch part two of Dr. Sanjay Gupta's interview here. Part one is above.

Healthcare.gov is still not up in Spanish. Wow. Why do democrats hate Latinos so much? Why don't they want Latinos to get affordable healthcare? Democrats are obviously racist since they don't care that healthcare.gov is still not up in Spanish

Is this a joke? Are you really that gullible to believe this? Volume????? Really. The spin is incredible. I feel like Sniffit during a crazy repub post. I'm pounding my fists as I type this. This is the person who is in charge? It's volume?? What an absolute joke. People, this is the U.S. government in action. I hope you realize how ridiculous this entire interview is. Incompetence would be the nicest thing someone should say.

Appaling level of incompetence! What would any CEO or President do if your Secretary of HHS doesn't inform you about such a primordial an important issue?! Your fire her immediately! Period!

This happens with both party's , they give government contracts to contractors that get paid if they succeed or fail .

Look at all the favoritism and plundering that government contractors did during the Afghan and Iraq wars . BILLIONS !

Like I said before , nobody ever died or lost a leg because of the Affordable Health Care website not functioning correctly !

The US accounting office needs to do a better job monitoring these large contracts , Only in America do you pay a company the full price to paint your house , and the company only pants the front porch and keeps the cash !

This is a big problem that both party's are guilty of , and both share responsibility !

And if the GOP would get off there behind and actually help , remember if your not part of the solution , your part of the problem . The way the Tea Party and Ted Cruz project failure , it's lucky we have lights to turn on.

Remember , GREEN EGGS AND HAM , try it before you put it down !

Do you honestly expect us to believe that the president was unaware the site was flawed? Wasn't this his crowning achievement in his first term? And he was unaware his 600 million dollar site doesn't work? I don't buy it.

I find it very hard to believe that Obama was kept in the dark by his subordinates regarding the problems with the roll-out of his signature piece of legislation. If that happened in private industry heads would be rolling starting with hers (Sebelius). This legislation was born with Nancy Pelosi's infamous declaration to vote it in first then read it! Sadly to say its gone downhill from there.

Time to get a real job in the private sector if you can. If you were in the private sector and launched this web site you wouldn't have a job anymore.

It's a website, not a nuclear reactor. It will be fixed. Please remain calm. Regardless of what you've been told, it's not the end if the world.

Obama are is an unmitigated disaster for Ed on a public that didnt want it by a straight part line vote. All of that would be bad enough but the sheer incompetence of the people in charge is breathtaking. What are the odds the man who headed Bain capital and organized an Olympics would have managed this better than the community organizer?

We are watching supreme ineptitude in the Oval Office at work in foreign affairs, economics and now health care. Worst. President. Ever.
