Washington (CNN) - Contractors on the problem-plagued website for President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms blamed the government and each other, but not themselves, at the first Congressional hearing on the troubled online enrollment system.
Angry exchanges between Republicans who oppose Obamacare and Democrats defending it erupted repeatedly, while officials of companies hired to create the HealthCare.gov website insisted their work went fine even though the software buckled when the system went online on October 1.

"The GOP has and continues to staunchly oppose Obamacare, even trying unsuccessfully to make defunding or delaying it requirement before it would fund the government."
Oh, indeed. To the tune of 26 Billion dollars. But, hey. I'm glad to hear that the problems are being tacked and will in all likelihood be corrected.
Now, please proceed with the witchhunt, GOPerville. I expect nothing less from a party that has nothing left to offer America.
This "hearing" could be over in 10 minutes.
All the Republicans had to do is ask each person the same question:
What can you tell us that we can use against the President? Be precise and be sure it is something damaging.
Remember when Medicaid D rolled out and they had all the glitches with that? (true)
Remember how the Dems held hearings, criticized, and caused purposeful delays, and tried to throw a monkey wrench in the works at each turn? (No, you don't, because Dems worked with Republicans towards a solution).
Remember when cheney shot that guy in the face? (true, and I know it doesn't belong here, but it was quite unusual and shows you how irresponsible republicants are when they are drinking)
democrats simply refuse to own their failures. they don't expect people to be responsible for themselves and their actions. they don't expect anybody in the government to be responsible. over $600 million in tax dollars spent and only a finger pointing disaster to show for it. they lied to everybody and said it was all good to go. and now all they have left is to try and deflect blame to others.
when are the american people going to learn that the democrats are totally incompetent? they can't do simple math let alone implement a mssaive new government entitlement program using state of the art technology.
In Washington these contractors are the problems. Get rid off all the contractors–hire on two month basis.
Just another fake scandal... the Obamacare web site really isn't a $600 million disaster that keeps crashing and being down for very long times. It is all just being made up. All those stories about insurance companies getting bad data, those are made up too. The MSM should be ashamed of themseleves for making all this up and harping on it.
The day is coming when all these problems with the website will be fixed and all you republican/conservative/tea party hypocrites will have to find a new scandal to cry about. Hey, I know one...what about Ted Cruz and Boehner wasting $24 billion of tax payers money? Or, what about the republican house voting to cut back on embassy and consulate security funding, before Benghazi? OOPS, your supposed to ignore those, right? HYPOCRITES!

In the colloquialism of the day: Ain't THAT the truth!!
The Republicans should know everyone who works with computers have problems. When you go on to a new system you always have problems they figure out what is wrong and they fix it. Yes you are upset but you get over it. So you can't sign up this month. You have up until Mar. 31, 2014 to sign up. Republicans are not helping themselves getting so worked up about this. They should be getting worked up about November 4 2014 when they will be voted out of office.
Ol' Yeller
"Remember when Medicaid D rolled out and they had all the glitches with that? (true)"
No I don't, what with menopause and what-not, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen!
"Remember when cheney shot that guy in the face? (true, and I know it doesn't belong here, but it was quite unusual and shows you how irresponsible republicants are when they are drinking)"
ROFLMAO Ol' Yeller!!!!
How many more times are the American people going to be lied to about Obamacare and everything involved with it before we realize this entire thing has been a giant Democrat scam? Lies, upon, lies, upon lies. And I am sure there are many, mnay more to come unless this fiasco is repealed.
did anybody ask these contractors how much in political contributions they have given to obama and the democrats?
Who was the general contractor on the project? The government? If so, then that was stupid. Now you have no one to blame.
The website is a loser. Did anybody really think this rollout wouldn`t have massive issues? Its a govt. run program expect more problems.
In the real world, there is culpability. This is the Obama-shrouded world – where no one is culpable – because they are either in a special interest group, or being intimidated by the mob boss mentality which runs rampant in this administration. Our healthcare should never be in the hands of any government entity – period.

Ahhh, yes we do. The government whose job it was to implement this joke of a law. Specifically the Obama Adminstration who owns this signature law lock, stock and barrel. The names are Sibilius and Obama. They are the owners of this massive failure.
I love how every article always has " President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms". It is true, his signature is all over this one as is all of his other policies... Amatuerish, bungled, ill conceived, destructive etc etc.
Would the private industry big wigs time be better spent getting their troops to fix the problems, as opposed to being grilled by the GOP for a campaign contributing, grandstanding, photo op?
@82ndABNVET
At least Ted Cruz is doing the noble thing and not using taxpayer funded health care. I applaud him.
Wish there were more of him.

Mr. 82ed , your a vet , you belong to the biggest socialist system in America , it's called the VA .
Aw, Well,
So what's 100 years of big liberal Politics, a 17 Trillion Dollar Federal deb, 47 Million on Food Stamps, jobs becoming Part Time, States with budgets in the Red, etc. We are getting Nanny Care! And Welfare Checks !
And how much did this website cost the american people?
And how much did this website cost us to build?
The largest economy in the World, a nation of over 300 million people and our elected officials are wasting time over computer glitches. In a few weeks or months the problems will be fixed, and, once again, the GOP will look foolish.
