GOP senator: Sebelius the 'laughingstock of America'

Washington (CNN) - It appears Republican Sen. John Barrasso is a loyal viewer of "Saturday Night Live."

The Wyoming Republican referred to the NBC comedy staple as he called Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius the "laughingstock of America" on Sunday morning, a day after the show parodied the glitch-fraught launch of the online federal health care exchange.

The opening sketch on “SNL,” featuring Kate McKinnon impersonating Sebelius, mocked the rough rollout of by poking fun at the secretary's repeated pleas to remain calm despite the website's error-plagued debut.

"Tonight, I have a number of friendly tips to help you deal with those technical problems," the Sebelius simulacrum said. "For example, have you tried restarting your computer?"

All jokes aside, Barrasso insisted on ABC's "This Week" that the skit - and Sebelius' response to the website fiasco - have compromised her leadership.

"She's lost considerable credibility," Barrasso said.

I don't think that she should be fired for technical glitches in the computer programs , however she should be held accountable for the content and policies of the ACA .
Did she actually say that she doesn't work for the people that want to see her fired , callous and stupid statement and reflects the thinking of the President and Democratic party , hence the division in our country.

what I don't understand is why these red states don't fight tooth and nail to exempt themselves from the ACA. They just might win that battle. Leave the rest of us who want the ACA have it.

.............we all know why they can not do that. Their constituents would soon find out what selfish people their representatives, their young people would exodus from those states leaving the old who would be insured out of their money coz those insurance companies would have their way with them!

""""History will favor the ACA move and Sebelius will get credit for helping it off the ground. Sebelius knows insurance. She was stellar in her work as KS insurance comissioner and as KS governor. We just wish she could have stayed governor. Now we have Brownback and the state is practically in a tailspin. I doubt that she was given control of all the computer develoipment contracts for the ACA site. There are "people who do that sort of thing. If I do fault the administration is was that they did not reward the company that did the Obama campaign website with the ACA contract. They were marvelous""""

I've heard nothing but Good about this gal, also....but the congress under the bonehead is going to grill her to death...She isn't nothing like the worthless Holder. No comparison....she's smart, he's a coward, + a dummy... (sorry CNN, I just had to say my opinion on him) But all sebelius has to do is hold steadfast, answer the questions, Just like 'ol Hill done....It will pass, don't let the bonehead thugs scare you.....( remember, that's what they are good at)

Kathleen, advice is : Stand Your will pass.... it will take some time....don't worry about it....

K Sebelius has lots to explain on the train wreck obama care roll out. She just is not qualified to do the job. So she should look for other employment.. We need leadership qualities and anyone with the resume to do the job.

I disagree. What make the US a laughingstock is that he can't get a budget passed. We argue among ourselves too much and have sides that don't understand what the leaders of the past were able to do (compromise and reach an agreement with people who don't share the same values. We don't have the friendliness that have been in past sessions of Congress which is sad because that helped move things along and shows the over influence of crazy pundits that have never held office and only care about their view point over the health of the country.
