
(CNN) - After a day of conflicting information about his whereabouts, former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has indeed reported to federal prison to serve a 30-month sentence, a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman said Tuesday.
Jackson - once a rising Democratic star whose political career imploded over the use of campaign finances to support lavish personal spending - entered a federal prison camp in Butner, North Carolina, on Tuesday morning, bureau spokesman Ed Ross said.

(CNN) – Conservative advocacy group Americans for Prosperity plans to launch a significant ad buy against a pair of vulnerable Senate Democrats over their stance on Obamacare.
According to a statement Tuesday, the group says it will spend over $2 million on a series of TV, radio and web ads going after Senators Kay Hagan of North Carolina and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana.

Washington (CNN) - With one week to go until Election Day, a new poll indicates Democrat Terry McAuliffe has opened up a double-digit lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli in the much-watched battle for Virginia governor.
The release of the Washington Post/Abt SRBI survey Tuesday morning comes a few hours after McAuliffe's campaign announced that President Barack Obama would campaign with the candidate in northern Virginia on Sunday.

(CNN) - A political consultant out of New York has been indicted on federal fraud charges, accused of defrauding the state's Democratic Senate Campaign Committee of $100,000, according to court documents.
The committee serves as the re-election arm for Democratic state senators in New York, and is not related to the national Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

(CNN) - The Republican National Committee is continuing its attack on Obamacare, this time with an ad aimed at one of the law's premier audiences, young people.
The RNC says that they'll run a commercial Tuesday night on Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, a program that's popular with younger viewers. The spot, which the party committee says will air only in the Washington, D.C. television market, is one of four the RNC has produced.

Washington (CNN) - The vast majority of Americans on the individual insurance market will see modifications to their existing plans, or even cancellations, according to an insurance industry source.
That raises questions about repeated claims made by President Barack Obama reassuring consumers that if they like their current plan, they can keep it.
