Rand Paul threatens to block Yellen nomination vote

(CNNMoney) - Rand Paul is threatening to try to block the full Senate from considering President Obama's nomination of Janet Yellen to head the Federal Reserve.

The Kentucky Republican said in a statement that he intends to put a hold on the nomination unless his legislation to have audits of the Fed is brought to a vote as well.

Sure Republicans, let's block the person who is most probably the most qualified on the planet for the job. Let's see if we can get the GOP's approval rating numbers down into single digits. Have you dudes not figured out your delaying tactics are not winning you any froends among voters? Idiots!

More breaking gov't to "prove" it's broken. More hostage taking to demand ransom. Nominations should be voted upon based on the merits, not based on separate issues that are part of someone's agenda.

Then just who would Aqua Buddha like to chair the Fed? Hmmmm. No one is who! He opposes the existence of the Fed. If he filibusters Ms. Yellen, it's him simply playing politics.

Rand Paul has expressed a desire to get rid of the Federal Reserve entirely. it's a pretty safe bet that he has not tried to sit down with any Democrats to get his proposal acted on by the Senate. Blocking this vote is pure showmanship at its' worst, and grandstanding at its' best.

Rand should get back to what he does best. plagiarize Wikipedia, and leave government to the adults.

@just saying and the haters, go ahead and continue to block anything and everything our President tries to do because the more the teaklans get in the way of progress the more people will tell them to go take a hike in the upcoming elections.
Why isn't anyone, Wolfe, asking about the $24BILLION waste due to the shutdown. Next time the reporters are kneeling to rafael bin Laden somebody day grow a pair and ask the real hard questions. In his case and lee and little boy randy and other teaklan members as to why they don't want the country to move ahead and do they have another agenda besides flushing the country down the toilet?
Not the hard questions of what newspapers do you read!

This is the guy who is using Wikipedia in all his speeches now. He has been taken lots of data form Wikipedia and using it in his speeches around the country. Do we want a leader who cannot think and write for himself?

Paul is just a dentist who couldn't make the millions he wanted in that profession, so he choose to become a Senator knowing they will become millionaires. Many are multi-millionaires after a few years in DC

The republicans are setting a very dangerous precedent in not allowing any of the Presidents policies and appointments . There's always the future and republicans act like they think they'll never regain the White House , because they're doing everything they can to alienate most of the electorate . Their denial just grows and grows with outlandish statements and accusations . They still can't believe Obama won his first term and his second term was due to voter fraud and gerrymandering . How ludicrous . If they continue doing what they're doing , people will never forget it and election time will show republicans exactly what the people think of it .

They couldn't make him a one term president , so the next best this is to obstruct everything he dose.

Even if it means destroying our economy .

Actually, he's an opthalmologist – and he is sooooo incompetent he couldn't even get certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology – the ONLY board in America that certifies Opthalmologists, so he created his own – the National Board of Ophthalmology. In other words, he's not a board certified physician, and should be imprisioned for impersionating a doctor!
