Washington (CNN) - Six people.
That's how many Americans had successfully enrolled in the federal health care exchange by the morning of October 2, according to documents provided to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Notes from a "war room" meeting at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance between administration officials and contractors working on the rollout of HealthCare.gov underscore the beleaguered debut of the online marketplace.
Posted online Thursday by the House committee, the documents indicate that the six enrolled individuals were issued policies from five different insurance companies.
"Healthcare Service Corporation had the two enrollments," the notes recorded.
By the next meeting, held that afternoon, notes showed "approximately 100 enrollments" had taken place since the launch of the federal exchange.
The following morning, the total had increased to 248.
Notes released by the committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, do not include official enrollment statistics and represent an incomplete accounting of the enrollment totals, said Joanne Peters, a Health and Human Services spokeswoman.
Again, the department declined to release the number of Americans who have been able to successfully enroll in the exchange.
"We will release enrollment statistics on a monthly basis after coordinating information from different sources such as paper, online, and call centers, verifying with insurers and collecting data from states," Peters said.
Peters reiterated that a slow start does not mean that the exchange will not boast a healthy roll call by the deadline to enroll.
"We have always anticipated that the pace of enrollment will increase throughout the enrollment period," Peters said.
Citing the quiet pace at which Massachusetts residents registered for that state's health program, the spokeswoman remained confident that enrollment totals would tick up as more people learned about the exchange.
HHS remains focused on providing accurate enrollment totals and cannot yet give those figures because of collection issues.
"We have had more than 20 million visitors to the Marketplace, showing an overwhelming interest in Americans learning more about their options for affordable health care," Peters said.
The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance is part of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

We were spendind 110 billion a year on the Iraqi War. Why is the deficit only down 1 biilion. Where is the other 109 Billion. Most of the jobs that have been created are part-time service sector jobs. 30 hours or less. no benefits. There is great concern right now over the housing market fluctuation and another stock market bubble. Yet the dems want to borrow more and increase taxes and spending. Artificially prop up the economy. Print more money making the dollar even more worthless. You and all of your welfare babies are sucking the life out of this country.
Obamacare is a failure that will cost the taxpayers billions and bankrupt everyone under 40.
"the premiums and deductibles are laughingly beyond the means of those who actually need to sign up! "
Quick, everyone ignore the studies showing that the premiums are even lower than they were predicted to be!!! Look over there...SQUIRREL!!!
@Maria Delaluz – then they are hearing a lot of the mis-information out there. If they are an elderly couple, then they are on Medicare, they aren't in the AHCA plan. Changes in Medicare were to eliminate waste, one of the negotiation of lower rates for hospitals. They didn't eliminate cancer treatments. My mom is on Medicare and is also going for cancer treatments and will be continuing after 1/1/14.
@ David – that's right. The Federal site will determine which State Exchange they will be eligible to enroll in. They could just go directly to their State's main web page and can navigate to the State Exchange site without even going through the Federal site.
"The Bible teaches to help the sick and the poor, but most of our conservative nation would rather take that line out of the Bible. "
Well, duh....guess who doesn't tend to vote for conservatives! "Screw you, I've got mine" is just one side of the coin. The other side is "Screw you, you don't vote for me."

Ahhh... I get it. Obama's abyssmal failure on his green energy programs is Sarah Palin's fault. Where oh where would we be without your insightful explainations.

I know you get it, but your reply is a bait and switch move to hide the fact that you and the Tea Party have flip-flopped on green energy once the President tried to move forward on it. Can you say Solyndra? How about "cut, cut, cut"?

Yummmmm... Rudy's serving up word salad.... nom, nom, nom.

TRANSLATION: "Nice shot, you got me."
I'll take that. Thanks for the point.
Wow. I know that's not "Flo" from Progressive, but it's the first thing that ran through my head.
The market was artificially juiced up
Here's the problem with the pres. Call of duty knew how much in sales OVERNITE. Grand Theft Auto 5 knew sales OVERNITE. This adim sucks and is not being honest with the American public
Obama care is horrible .
Everybody knows the web site is Down and has been , so CNN, why don't you report some real news, like how the GOP teabums lost 24 billion dallars in 16 days, CNN idiots!!!!
Every person signing up is a person who couldnt get insurance and wanted some. Tell me how it's alright that in the greatest country in the world we have people who cannot get health care ANY other way? The Tea Baggers and GOP critics can point to the problems of the website and continue wasting tax payer time and money attacking the program over and over but NOT once have the poanned anything constructive to HELP Americans who need it. All they have done is attack aspects of the program one at a time and spread false stories to confuse and anger people. The fact is the GOP and Tea Party folks have NOTHING to bring to the table to help. They only have their hate of OBAMA and hate of LIBERALS in general. The ACA is not perfect nobody said it was, even the president said it is only a start. I can see that their are thousands and thousands of Americans who are happy to have some insurance which in the long term costs ALL of us less.
Maybe this is a good reason why you shouldn't have a bunch of freakin' republicans build your site. I knew the republicans were behind the problems with healthcare.gov.
deficit down under a trillion for the first time in over 40 years and repos can't stand it. As far as the health care numbers . How can you believe anything from these lying trolls. Wait and see. Hopefully the AFC will help many people what's your alternative GOP?. cutting food stamp money?? If we can't keep them from voting maybe we can starve them out and make sure they won't get health care. New GOP motto. Keep them Hungry and sick
Wire Palladin, S.F.
Udo – Can't lead? What a crock of crap? The moment your ilk start helping our country, instead of trying to destroy it, you may become credible. You must have noticed that we are no longer losing 8 million jobs a year, bin Laden is dead, we are out of Iraq, the deficit is $1 billion lower than in Bush's last year, the market went from 6700 to over 15,000 . . .You got nothing.

Oh lordy...the libs are getting frantic now...a Bin Laden name drop...so utterly pathetic...
They're going to need to raise the fine if they really want people to enroll.
Blah blah blah MA had 123 enrollments in the first month of launching its health care program and 289 the second month. MA now has a merely 3.9% rate of people being uninsured, the lowest in the nation by a huge margin. So guess what? Yeah, something happened between point A and point B that resulted in almost everyone enrolling. But I would gladly bet on this...wanna put money on your predictions?
Based on the numbers given. Of course the entire population of both did not have to sign up as some were already covered.
MA population 6.6 million people
% after 1 month.002%
USA population 313 million
% signed up after 2 days .00008%
Holy Obama Care,
Old Gunderson see all the Apologists for Train Wreck post excuse after excuse. Figure it out. No job, no money for Health Insurance. Part time job, no MONEY !1 People are hurting out there but old Snake Oil Salesman still selling Snake Oil. Now "Puyin" Care hit fan. Want see what 1930's like? Keep Obama Care. You get there.
@Rudy and Fair,
I think you two would have a terrific cable show together. Now THAT would be a "crossfire". 🙂
Of course, Issa ignores how many people enrolled in the state run exchanges, which appear to have fewer problems with their websites. Issa's crusade against this administration has to be one of the most shameful periods in the history of the Congress. The man is the wealthiest, most corrupt member of the House, yet HE is chairing the Oversight Committee. Ultimately, it will be Darrell Issa who first introduces articles of impeachment against this president. It's going to happen. Issa has no shame and even fewer scruples. He would rather waste the government's time on partisan attacks than do ANYTHING that actually moves the country forward.
@garbage of America,
"so CNN, why don't you report some real news, like how the GOP teabums lost 24 billion dallars in 16 days, CNN idiots!!!!"
We don't pay them advertising dollars; we just buy products advertised on their channel and website. They're not looking out for OUR interests.
Now children...
Today's lesson is brought to you by the number 6
NOW...
Let's ALL sing FEDERAL GOVERNMENT hymn # 3
What a friend WE have in... THE IRS
Please....tell me anyone expected different when you put a program this large, crafted by the Dems, and monitored by the IRS. Only the beginning as all , or most, of you 24/7's on this site continue to sip your kool aid. The coffees brewing......try some.
Anyone who has EVER shopped for insurance knows, first you must see what plans are available, and pricing. After you narrow your choices, you then fine tune by checking the provider lists. These are not decisions that are made in a few minutes.
I signed up thru ACA. I reduced my companies premiums by 25% and cut deductibles in half. We had options thru the exchange that were NEVER available on the open market.
My company has 45 employees.
Name jk. Sfl. GOP CRUZ lee&rubio 24billion dallar LOSS of your tax money conservatives, the garbage of America.
Everybody knows the web site is Down and has been , so CNN, why don't you report some real news, like how the GOP teabums lost 24 billion dallars in 16 days, CNN idiots!!!!

Well, sure they can. Then they can follow it up with a story of how the Obama administration is borrowing $24 Billion EVERY SIX DAYS.
