Washington (CNN) - Six people.
That's how many Americans had successfully enrolled in the federal health care exchange by the morning of October 2, according to documents provided to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Notes from a "war room" meeting at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance between administration officials and contractors working on the rollout of HealthCare.gov underscore the beleaguered debut of the online marketplace.
Posted online Thursday by the House committee, the documents indicate that the six enrolled individuals were issued policies from five different insurance companies.
"Healthcare Service Corporation had the two enrollments," the notes recorded.
By the next meeting, held that afternoon, notes showed "approximately 100 enrollments" had taken place since the launch of the federal exchange.
The following morning, the total had increased to 248.
Notes released by the committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, do not include official enrollment statistics and represent an incomplete accounting of the enrollment totals, said Joanne Peters, a Health and Human Services spokeswoman.
Again, the department declined to release the number of Americans who have been able to successfully enroll in the exchange.
"We will release enrollment statistics on a monthly basis after coordinating information from different sources such as paper, online, and call centers, verifying with insurers and collecting data from states," Peters said.
Peters reiterated that a slow start does not mean that the exchange will not boast a healthy roll call by the deadline to enroll.
"We have always anticipated that the pace of enrollment will increase throughout the enrollment period," Peters said.
Citing the quiet pace at which Massachusetts residents registered for that state's health program, the spokeswoman remained confident that enrollment totals would tick up as more people learned about the exchange.
HHS remains focused on providing accurate enrollment totals and cannot yet give those figures because of collection issues.
"We have had more than 20 million visitors to the Marketplace, showing an overwhelming interest in Americans learning more about their options for affordable health care," Peters said.
The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance is part of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
I like the thing about kids can stay on their parents insurance until they are 26! What they don't tell you is that your parents probably won't be able to afford the insurance anyways.
Also sure I've visited the website to see what I could get (wasn't successful unless I fully enrolled). They don't take those numbers into consideration; all those who have visited but won't get it. So yeah a lot of people visited the website but that means nothing. People are going to realize how much they are going to pay when a lot of young healthy single people won't sign up and take the penalty.
SNL had inside info it seems!!!

"should they not say 6 loose sign up! I can still get better coverage on the open market then Oharycare"
I could NOT resist replying to this comment – do you mean there were 6 "somethings" on the loose who signed up for healthcare insurance? And seriously, you think there's an actual plan called "Obamacare"? It is a tragedy of epic proportions, the IQ level seen among those commenting about a law they apparently can't begin to understand. (I'm being generous and assuming your auto-correct had a hirsute moment, thus "Oharycare.") Well, you go for it, Anonymous! Grab that better coverage on the open market – and then come back here and let us know how it's better than that stupid "Oharycare" plan. And props for foregoing the use of "skyrocketing" (and its alternate spelling, "sky rocketing") and "rammed"/"shoved"/"forced"/"jammed"/"crammed"/etc.
B0 said all could keep their insurance and doctor if they liked them.
I hope the GOP shuts the government down until they make B0 keep his promise.
I'm on SSI and if I miss a few checks, I can stand it if B0 is forced keep his word.
Way to falsely report, CNN.
@ Dominican mama: "Oh well. Safe weekend to you babe, and to the haters as well, what the heck!"
As always, same to you!
Raking, my friend. Raking leaves. Until Thanksgiving is my best guess.
It is worse than slavery and will be the downfall of modern society as we know it!
I sure hope those healthy, independently wealthy folks you refer to who won't sign up don't get in a car accident on their way home from a tea party rally and end up in a wheelchair the rest of their lives, only to have the government pick up their tab!

By age 26 my father had fought in and survived World War II, gotten out of the service and had started his own business to support his young family.
obama and the rest of his lackeys have been lying to the american people about the number of people signing up for this joke of "healthcare reform" just like they have been lying about everythng else. they were throwing out large numbers when most of those people were signing up for medicaid, free taxpayer paid for healthcare (just try to find a doctor near you that takes it though).
and you know for a fact that they have been watching the numbers internally every single day and peeing their pants with the dismall failure they see. they need all this extra time to concoct yet another bag full of lies to coceal the truth of their disaster. they have already started with their 'we didn't expect a lot of people to sign up at first' lie.
lies, lies, lies, and more lies. it is all we ever get from obama and the democrats.
Or, your daughter or sister is stricken with advanced stage of breast cancer and has to endure endless rounds of chemo and radiation and invasive procedures. Because, after all, you take care of your own with all of your wealth and you are so much luckier and healthier and smarter than the rest!
You're on SSI, WHAT? Isn't this an evil, socialist, government program?
you people have lied so much that we do not know when to beleave you so I am going dem. at least they do not think that every one is a bunch of dummies you guys blow keep up the good work and we all will be dem. except for the d.a,s that work for cnn hahahaha you will never win go hillary
6 people. That would be Obama, Michele, their two daughters, the dog and... the white house cook.
Wow a whole 6 people, that and people being kicked from their Insurance. OBama set in place the biggest lie in history. If you like your insurance you can keep it. Obama a total loser, con artist, liar, and Anti American, the biggest threat this country has ever seen. IMPEACH THE BUm
I would love to be able to wait until I have a car wreck before I have to buy auto insurance. This is exactly what is happening with ACA. Since they must take you no matter what, it is simply the smart thing to do to just wait until you are sick before you enroll. Why pay a premium for something you are not using if you don't have to? I hope Obama makes car insurance the same way he has made health insurance. That would be awesome.
How bleeding heart liberal of you, Denise. Sounds like a lot of jealously on your end.
You don't get it do you?
This Obamacare fiasco is the biggest ever wedge to further divide America. While you people are on here busily trying to make sense of it all – the MEGA economic crash is about to hit the US and by the time you've all lost your savings, benefits etc .......you will be well and truly in the hands of the New World Order – slaves to a man!
Well done O'BS!
I just want to know why the government isn't bothering to mention that the 'other' subsidies that are going to the insurance companies in addition to the income-level-determined subsidies will be phased out in the next few years. In other words, whether or not YOU qualify for a subsidy, the taxpayers are giving another subsidy to the insurer. What do you all think will happen as the government cuts those 'other' subsidies? That's right. Higher premiums. It's all a dog and pony show folks. The low rates are just 'teaser' rates, if you can even get those. It's like getting an interest-only mortgage with a balloon payment just over the horizon. Say goodbye to your home, and your health insurance.
Can someone really tell me what the 10 things are that they can cancel your health ins. policy for? I have heard the nuts on the right and the Kool-Aid drinks on the left tell me their bias versions, but can someone just spit out the facts of why so many people have had their insurance cancelled. Then I overheard someone at work today say that the whole thing is the biggest lie ever (Obamacare) that only the insurance companies really knew what was in the ACA So if someone could really tell me I would like to know.
Obamacare is going to get worse....and Obama will have no one to blame but himself. If Obama can not blame the Republicans or Bush he just says he did not know, that is what we are going to hear from now on.
What should happen is that Obama and all the politicians whether Democrat or Republican should have ObamaCare and NOT the special Five Star Private Government insurance they we are all paying for.
Then you will see how much any of them will push Obamacare on the US Citizens.
They are nothing but liars and thieves profiting of our tax dollars and the huge salary that are getting.
It is almost as bad as the politicians in the communist counties, where they had everything and the people were going broke.
And the website is really the easy part of Obamacare. Wait for the implementation when people need answers to questions like...Why did I not qualify for a subsidy when my rich drug dealer neighbor qualified? Why am I paying for abortion coverage? Why does the guy in a different zip code but only two blocks down get a better deal then me? I love the low premium and the fact that the American Tax Payer is paying for HALF of it, but what do you MEAN $5000 deductible comes out of my pocket? Why isn't the American Taxpayer ALSO paying my deductible??? I don't qualify for a subsidy, why are my premiums rising AND my taxes rising??? Why is the website down AGAIN??? Why can't I see my old doctor anymore? Why am I on a 3 month waiting list to see a specialist? Why is the website down AGAIN? I voted for Obama but just found out OBAMACARE IS MANDATORY... DID I VOTE FOR THAT?????!!!!
US population = 313,900,000
6 registrations per day = 143,333 years to complete...
So I am sure the fools will believe Darrell Issa? The fact is he doesn't have the numbers and knowing the lack of honesty for this corrupt politician should state loud and clear that he is clueless.
