Washington (CNN) - Echoing her Republican colleagues in the Senate, Sen. Kelly Ayotte said Sunday that the entire country needs to slam the brakes on implementing the Affordable Care Act and re-evaluate President Barack Obama's signature health care law.
"It's time to call a timeout," Ayotte told CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union."

Calling the rollout of the federal health exchange a singular "mess," the New Hampshire Republican said the problems with the law run far deeper than the headline-generating failures with the HealthCare.gov website.
Ayotte insisted that, in spite of comments from White House press secretary Jay Carney blaming Republicans for obstructing progress, she is trying to help her constiuents deal with realities under Obamacare - including policy cancellations and rising premiums for some.
"My constituents are writing me, but how can I help them when they're getting cancellation notices because of the way Obamacare is drafted?" Ayotte asked.
While she hesitated to predict how her party would fare in the 2014 midterm election, Ayotte, who will not be up for re-election, did "guarantee" that Obamacare will be one of the focal points of every race across the country. Rather than say which side would come out on top - either Republicans bashing the fraught rollout or Democrats blaming the GOP for setting up roadblocks to implementing the law - Ayotte said Americans "are rightly frustrated with both sides of the aisle" and would look favorably upon lawmakers who sought a way to compromise and fix the law.
Can’t win the game now need a time out ?
Ease the SBA, home loans keep the interest rate low we will invest we can hire more
The heritage foundation , Jim DeMint ant the Teabags have put so much presser on Sen. Kelly Ayotte and other moderate repos , you can feel there pain !
this sounds like the quote: "there's more to it than meets the eye" I don't buy her timeout request!
When you have 4 flat tires on the new Jalopy you need more than a time out. you need a new Jalopy. Clue: Get rid of Obama Care! Or, get rid of jobs. Of course you can keep going and try to prevent another Depression. Good luck.
Sen. Kelly Ayotte move on
May be tea party like here about Obama care , Benghazi but majority Americans want to improve the economy
I think the GOPee party needs a time out 10yrs or more
The game has already been won. The kinks and glitches are being resolved.
Aren't you idiots supposed to be on another undeserved 12 days of vacation?
How can we miss you teaklans if you won't go away?
I agree..TIME OUT!
"you are going to have to pass it to find out what's in it..."
Had to laugh how fast the language moves when I found out a friend of mine referred to a scam phone call her received as being "Obamaed." Unfortunately the name of our president has become a joke punch line all over the world. It would be funny if it was not costing us so much money.
I agree. TIME OUT! and NOW!
Frankly, nothing Ayotte said was meaningful. I watched her, and all I came away with was the fact that she
and Marsha Blackburn are useless. (Blackburn at the Sebelius drubbing, asked a question, then left). Got
her mug on TV – mission accomplised.
They are no Olympia Snows. But, Teapublicans do not tolerate anyone that can think for themselves, much
less work in a bi-partisan manner.
I would like a timeout from Cruz too, but that won't happen.
The only winners in the ACA is the 49%, of which signed up for Medicaid. The other 51% of Americans will pay for insurance policies they don't need/want, because the ACA mandates that all policies have certain factors that many Americans don't need. Next the government will tell you what kind of car, home and life insurance you need to have. Give free insurance for these things to those who do not work or earn a certain amount. There is no provision for those on Medicare to help buy part D (Medicare advantage) on a exchange., but the government doesn't hesitate to take money from Medicare to help pay for ACA.. The Supreme Court needs to re think its facts toward the ACA, individual right of Americans to choice has been taken away by this law, that they supported.
Give me a break. What 'roadblocks' did the Reps successfully set up? Answer, none.
It was a month long struggle, but today I finally got enrolled on Healthcare.gov. The website is working MUCH better and I had no problem this morning getting enrolled. First time in 11 years I'll have healthcare since NONE of my previous employers over these last 11 years offered healthcare. Thank you ACA.
"but how can I help them when they're getting cancellation notices because of the way Obamacare is drafted?"
Draft a proposal to address the problem and draft it in a nonpartisan fashion that addresses the problems without attacking the law in general. Solving problems with legislation is what people in Congress are supposed to do.
Pinoccio is back in the limelight, with a new name. It sounds more like Obama.
0bamacare is just the beginning. Government intrusion in energy markets via the EPA are next. Will 0bama and the dems force auto exchanges in America to force us to buy enviro friendly cars or other products they think we should use?
Screw the GOP failures and where's our 24 billion dallars?????
It's here, it's the law. Get used to it. Stop whining about it.
That's what the GOP should have been doing all along, instead of fighting healthcare for all. That's all their agenda is and they offer nothing. How can healthcare be a bad thing?????and where's our 24 billion dallars?????
It is a shame that republicans have never taken the side of Americans.
According to the GOP, if we have affordable care, what will stop government from killing us with drones?
How soon people forget that during the last election in 2012, virtually no democrats, including Obama, would even mention Obamacare while campaigning. They were running from it even before it cratered, now the GOP has the proof to match their predictions, that Obamacare is snake oil.
GOP is gone to dogs. True.
