5 ways life changes in the Senate after nuclear option on filibusters

Washington (CNN) - More new judges. Faster appointments to top government jobs. Revised regulations and rules reflecting government policy.

Those are the practical impacts from the nuclear option Senate Democrats approved to end filibusters of most presidential nominations and appointments.

Man, CNN, you really know how to drag out a thin, superficial analysis.

The Republicans brought this on themselves. The visual that CNN put about for about a second yesterday said it all. There have been as many filibusters since President Obama took office as there have been for ALL of the other presidents in history put together. Isn't that just plain wrong? Why would the Republicans do that? Think about it. Remember when McConnell said his first goal was to make President Obama a one term president. Well it didn't work but they have sure tried and held the country back while doing so. This has been the most obstructive minority government ever. Pathetic. During the run up to the midterms Democrats should show that graph with half of all the filibusters on Pres. Obama's side and all of the other presidents together on the other half. That explains a lot and shows what garbage President Obama has had to put up with since taking office.

What a novel idea...a smooth running Senate. Good to see that the rights of the majority have been restored.

Majority will rule in the senate, what a brilliant idea. Of course the RWNJs will call this communism.

Good! It is high time to end the Republican insanity and inaction.

RWNJs think that stopping republican obstruction in the senate will start a war that the democrats will lose. After watching the GOP lose everyone but their extreme nut job base, the only thing they have left is the Koch brothers money, and most people can see what they are up to.

Yup. Their number one priority must have sounded something like this. "Make Barack Obama a two-term President."

Enjoy it while you have it Harry. Thanks to Obamacare, your time in the majority will end in 2015 (which I think he knows and one reason why they did this). Then you will learn just how this will be used to make you totally irrelevant. I can hardly wait to hear all the Democrat whining and screaming when that happens. Just like they do now with gerrymandering, a DEMOCRAT invention.

Republicans had just better be damn ready to teach them a good lesson with no backing down. They earned the whooping they will get.

People like Donna truly amaze me. The Obama haters live in a very tiny bubble and can't see the forest through the trees. President Obama did not lie as many insurance policies were grandfathered into the new law, however it is the insurance companies and the Republican run states (that chose not to set up their own exchanges) that are deliberately hurting the law

Right, like the MILLION people in Democrat owned and controlled CALIFORNIA that are having their health insurance policies cancelled! It is dope smoking retards like you that are killing this country. You simply cannot accept the reality that your little cult leader Obama lied to the entire country in order to pass the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American public.

But you probably don't care at all since you are likely one of the millions of takers in this country and contribute nothing to it. That is the way of the left, take, take, take and then complain others aren't giving you enough and that is not fair.
its always astonished me how quickly some of the conservative posters on here resort to abuse when the flaws in tehir arguments are pointed out. Donna seems to find plenty of time to post all sorts of baseless crap on here, yet never bothers to actually engage anyone in a discussion probably becase he/she/it lacks the requisite skills to present an argument without being abusive. Its the red states that take, take, take, and expect everything to be served up to them on a silver platter. Conservatives expect there to be no consequences for standing pat, when its a conscious choice to become extinct. The greatest fraud is the concept of conservative rule, since they will not respond to any situation, any crisis because its not written in the manual: if you see a problem, you fix it. I guess actually dealing with problems is just too inconvenient.

Their will be no bills passed. None. That is going to be disastrous to the fight over the debt ceiling.
