(CNN) - He used to be a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act, but Mike Tyson now says Obamacare's suffered a knockout.
"It just really went horrible," the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on "Piers Morgan Live."
"It's really, it's really bad," Tyson added.
The comments appear to be a change of opinion for Tyson, who in an 2012 interview with Morgan applauded President Barack Obama's efforts on health care, adding that the President and Vice President Joe Biden "give the people in that desperational need, that hope."
The start up of Obamacare over the past two months has been extremely flawed, with major problems plaguing HealthCare.gov, the system's main website for people to sign up for coverage, and with a controversy over insurance policy cancellations due primarily to the new national health law.
Tyson says he still believes in giving health care coverage to the millions of Americans currently without insurance, but added that "as of now it doesn't seem they can get it. I was for it a 100 percent but we just have to come to the reality that it didn't work."

This from a man who tattoos his face. Go take a seat Mike.
I think Iron Mike got hit in the head one too many times for me to listen to his political opinions.
I'd rather hear him sing.
I'm betting that Piers didn't dare raise his voice at Tyson! LOL
It just means that Obama is more of a fighter than you are Mike
For decisions with life-changing consequences, I always consult a person with a tattoo on their face.
I agree with Mike. All Americans should have health care. Forcing individuals and business to buy a government sponsored health program is absolutely 100% the wrong way to go about it. ObamaCare is about control, for the government to take over the industry by force and use it as a tax, it's not about helping people.
Though Obamacare is going to make life really suck for all Americans, it will hurt the Obama supporters the most and that does make me smile.
even mike tyson is smarter than our president!!!
Does the ACA cover atrophy of grammar? He has a point about the ACA not being anything like what his 70 IQ points thought he was cheering on. Dismiss him as stupid, but the ACA rollout and the contradictions to Obama's promises about the implications were in fact, real real badified.
In years past, I never thought I'd hear Mike Tyson quoted on a current issue of national importance. Perhaps more of the American population is actually starting to pay attention to current affairs.
How can anyone in their right mind not agree with Tyson on this? If you consider Obamacare to be a success, then obviosly your standards are set pretty low, and your expectations even lower. If this is a success, what would you consider a failure?
Piers said he was leaving the USA because the 2nd amendment was not repealed. Why is he still here. Do we have to bring Jermey Clarkson over here to punch him in the face again??
Obamacare's devastating repercussions are beginning to hit. Individuals are losing the plans they like. Our elderly are losing their doctors. Doctors are refusing to participate. Medications are being denied. Referrals being denied. People are at risk of severe penalties because can't sign up on the website—it does not work. Obama and his administration blatantly lied to and deceived Americans purely in an effort to gain power and control. We've had enough of their tyranny!
All that's missing is an Obama face tat.
That away Mike/ you tell it just as it is. A Spade is a Spade and the train wreck called obamacare is picking up steam. It was bad to start with and will end the same way. What a joke with the dems thinking government needs to control and mandate health care in America. We are living in the land of the Free and The Home of the Brave. And we want to keep our freedoms and liberties and live up to the constitution. The only ones to gain here are the freeloaders and leaches.
Mike has more common sense than most liberals want to admit. He is admitting that obamacare is a train wreck. As we all can plainly see.
Things are getting bad for the planet.
Yes, Mike Tyson, just the perspective I want to hear on Obama Care.
Palin/Tyson 2016
I find it hilarious that peoples gripe with Obamacare is the website can't handle all the traffic. I mean give me a break that's what your issue?
I am not a CNN supporter and did not watch the interview. However, some easily verifiable FACTS that anyone who can think for themselves can corroborate follow. Prior to Obamacare (and to date) fully 70% of all Americans were satisfied or very satisfied with their health care coverage. The bulk of the remaining uncovered population are ILLIGAL ALIENS and NOT entitled to any tax funded coverage. And since this law is a TAX (thank you Supreme Court Justice John Roberts) and only passed as such since it could NOT be enacted in any other fashion even though Mr. Obama PROMISED it would never be a tax...fooled ya, sleeping American Public! it should be scrapped and a fiscally responsible plan or NO plan should be created. I am not a Republican so no need to go there...I am vey well educated in the ways and methods of fiscally responsible enterprises and the way this plan was created and deplorably presented and pushed upon the American population is a disgrace to all who voted for it and promote it today. Young Americans better put down the video games and stop their narcissistic behaviors, engage their brain cells and think with that organ instead of their hearts. I know the freedoms they take for granted today will soon vanish forever and they will never realize the full extent of what they lost for their frivolous want of the "now".
Tyson tells the truth and the liberal world hates him. Typical liberal way of operating.
Who cares what Mike Tyson thinks about anything?
It's official. If the scholar, Mike Tyson says the ACA is bad, then it is. Sarah Palin for president!!
Single payer! Some states will lead and the rest will follow once they see the benefits of cutting out the rent seeking middlemen.
