Mike Tyson to Piers Morgan: Obamacare is 'really bad'

(CNN) - He used to be a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act, but Mike Tyson now says Obamacare's suffered a knockout.

"It just really went horrible," the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on "Piers Morgan Live."

"It's really, it's really bad," Tyson added.

The comments appear to be a change of opinion for Tyson, who in an 2012 interview with Morgan applauded President Barack Obama's efforts on health care, adding that the President and Vice President Joe BidenĀ  "give the people in that desperational need, that hope."

The start up of Obamacare over the past two months has been extremely flawed, with major problems plaguing, the system's main website for people to sign up for coverage, and with a controversy over insurance policy cancellations due primarily to the new national health law.

Tyson says he still believes in giving health care coverage to the millions of Americans currently without insurance, but added that "as of now it doesn't seem they can get it. I was for it a 100 percent but we just have to come to the reality that it didn't work."

As if Mike knows the difference between good and bad. Sheesh! Maybe he's gearing up for a political run. The Republicans usually love a sports figure, but in this case, I'm not too sure. He's not milf-ish enough!

Yeah, I am going to trust the opinion of a guy that bites off the ears of his opponents. However, giving the poor access to health care is just plain wrong. Health care should be limited for only the rich!

Using Detroit and Stockton as their testing grounds have successfully implemented one of their many plans to destroy
the United States from within. Following the lead of the Manchurian Candidate they move forward to demolish any chance of the country recovering.

What happened to all the youth that so enthusiastically voted for Obama in 2008...they're the ones Obama Care was counting on to make it affordable for the old and unhealthy...Obama must be disappointed in them !!!!

Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water! Just because the website is having problems, it doesn't mean that Obamacare is a disaster. How about counting to ten and then waiting to see what happens as time goes on.

This is one mans opinion and he is entitled to it, but why are so many attacking his character? Why would you be offended when someone rightly criticizes a very faulty program?

BTW, to the poster who said "you can be healthy as a horse but if one day your car flips over and you wake up in the hospital with 100k bill, who pays for that?"

    Answer: Apparently the working class....

This is a very flawed law, many supporters say to look to Europe as they have healthcare but if you look at the living standards is the Europeans the majority live in small apartments (larger cities) or small homes in rural areas...if you have more than this then good luck to you.

One more thing, unlike the Europeans we have a much larger social program than they, example: currently 70% of LA County receives some type of government assistance....I'm sure the europeans don't have that.

This law is the death of the middle class (not the upper middle class though). With hat said the disparity between rich and poor will get even bigger

Mike Tyson is still trying to workout his mental demons... if I want advice on healthcare he's the last person I would turn to. Boxing tips yes, addiction issues no, family care issues no, healthcare no, how to spend 400 million dollars and be broke afterwards yes.

The failure of Obamacare has become obvious even to those of simpler minds now. Next, Obama might realize how bad Obamacare is.

  22. ThinkAgain: The GOP owes our nation $24 billion

Wow, a website has a rough launch and all the GOPers throw their hands up in the air. What a bunch of quitters!

BTW, does Tyson remember this about the GOP leadership:

A few weeks into the launch of the most sweeping health care reform law in a generation, John Boehner declared that the implementation was a disaster.

"The implementation has been horrendous. We've made it far more complicated than it should be."

Boehner was talking about -wait for it – the rollout of Medicare Part D - enacted in 2003 by President George W. Bush.

But did he want to repeal the benefit? No. Instead he soberly acknowledged the problems but saw potential in the law and called for improving it. "The good news is that the competition that's being created has lowered premiums significantly below where Congress thought they'd be when we put the bill together, so the competition side is good. I think the implementation side continues to need to be improved."

OK, I was for Obamacare, but now that the experts- Suzanne Somers and Mike Tyson have come out against it, I have no choice but to follow their lead.
