Mike Tyson to Piers Morgan: Obamacare is 'really bad'

(CNN) - He used to be a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act, but Mike Tyson now says Obamacare's suffered a knockout.

"It just really went horrible," the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on "Piers Morgan Live."

"It's really, it's really bad," Tyson added.

The comments appear to be a change of opinion for Tyson, who in an 2012 interview with Morgan applauded President Barack Obama's efforts on health care, adding that the President and Vice President Joe Biden  "give the people in that desperational need, that hope."

The start up of Obamacare over the past two months has been extremely flawed, with major problems plaguing, the system's main website for people to sign up for coverage, and with a controversy over insurance policy cancellations due primarily to the new national health law.

Tyson says he still believes in giving health care coverage to the millions of Americans currently without insurance, but added that "as of now it doesn't seem they can get it. I was for it a 100 percent but we just have to come to the reality that it didn't work."

Can anyone explain to me exactly why anyone would care about Mike's opinion on this matter? Under the ACA Holyfield wouldn't have been denied coverage using the premise that his ear was a pre-existing condition. Other than that I have no reason to believe that Mike knows anything significant about...well, about anything.

Outside the ring I wouldn't consider Iron Mike an advice or opinion fountain for anything. And he's barely functioning these days anyway.

So, all half-brains agree. There must be something really good in the ACA. If it was good when Romney proposed and implemented it, why is it bad under President Obama? Me thinks Mr. President will have the last laugh...

Why do people keep saying every American DESERVES to be insured? NO THEY DON'T. Many do not have insurance for a reason....they spent it on alcohol, drugs, prostitution, extra-marital affairs, the latest electronic gadget, an abortion, birth control instead of using FREE self-control and planning, practicing homosexuality (high-risk behavior). They don't get to make those kinds of choices and then say they DESERVE to have free health insurance. If someone wants to put themselves at risk, they can do it on their own dime...stop clumping them in with the true orphans and widows, whom do DESERVE quality goods and services, not SUBSTANDARD/SUBPAR government handouts, like Obamacare.

And why does Mike Tyson suddenly matter ? Why would anyone care one way or another what he has to say ? He was a fighter, he made a few brief appearances in movies. He treats women poorly and was partially made famous because of that. So why on earth would anyone care what he has to say rather he is on the right or the left ?

Tyson should stick to his day-job, like the other musicians, actors, and sports figures. Not many of them have to live in the real world with the rest of us.

Colo001, what gives liberals hope is that Mike Tyson agrees with Republicans. Great minds think alike. Mike Tyson is not a great mind. What does that say about Republicans?

You have made several errors. ACA is NOT free, everyone pays according to their income. Today people with No health insurance get free treatment for emergencies and intensive care; a public hospital must admit them in case of life-threatening accidents, heart attacks, etc- otherwise we would get headlines like "hospital refuses care for 22 yr old who crashed his motorcycle while DUI." It isn't their own dime, it is the taxpayers and insurance payers. Everyone eventually needs medical care, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars, let them start paying for it.

Yes, and for all his faults, Mr. Tyson is correct here: the AFA is a failure and the one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated upon the working middle class.

The biggest idiot is the one who asked Tyson about his opinion on the ACA. What exactly was the foundation under which Tyson can give an opinion on the matter? CNN anti-Obama campaign is pathetic!
