Washington (CNN) - For Washington, Christmas could come early. Or it could not come at all.
The deal to end the government shutdown in October included a new deadline - come up with a plan to fund the government by December 13 - or risk another partial government shutdown next month.
FULL STORY

I am surprised that Boehner is making the worst congress in history wail until 11 am on the 13th, to go on vacation. It just gives him a longer time to do nothing.
They should not be able to go home until they've come up with a budget deal. End of story! I'd get written up if I left work on my desk unfinished, take a break for 3 weeks and then come back to work like everything is hunky dory. The same should apply to Congress.

And please name a business in the world that would keep Sebilius after how she has rolled out the ACA. Welcome to big government, my friend! You asked for it, you got it!

Enron execs screwed up big time – corporate America protects its own as well as WashDC.

A shrewd business owner would keep her around long enough to fix her own mess, and then they would fire her. Why add problems to your own plate? What difference does it make if you fire the person now or a month from now after they've cleaned up their own mess? It makes a big difference if you're the one doing the firing.

Big government is governors like Bob McDonnell making women get unnecessary ultrasounds. Giving people access to affordable healthcare coverage should be the roll of government.

She's proven herself incapable of running a hot-dog cart. She's incapable of "cleaning up her own mess". Can her and cut your losses.

Lol. That's a great answer...even if it has absolutely nothing to do with my comment. I do, however, agree with you about the ultrasound issue. Very stupid. However, even the president agrees that the size and bureaucracy of govt is the issue. Here's what he said:
“The challenge, I think, that we have going forward is not so much my personal management style or particular issues around White House organization,” Obama said. “It actually has to do with what I referred to earlier, which is we have these big agencies, some of which are outdated, some of which are not designed properly.”
We might as well get used to it, Boehner and the useless will give us a shutdown again in the New Year.

Ahhhh, the mind of the liberal is fascinating. So she's proven herself to be incapable of handling the job. If she couldn't launch the program, why on earth would you feel comfortable enough that she would be able to fix it? There can only be one reason to keep her and that's politics (and that's why she stays). If this was a real company she would have been axed long ago.

Who went non sequitur first, Tom? The story is about the budget, not the ACA, Sebelius, or web pages. As to size of government, you do realize the federal government is significantly smaller than under Bush, right? As a matter of fact it is the smallest in nearly 50 years. Meanwhile, no worries on the budget. Mr. Ryan is rewriting hos 12 page budget of two years ago, and Mr. Boehner is going to ensure the GOP will shut down the government again by not scheduling anything until next year.
Question- would you hire Boehner?
@rs "We might as well get used to it, Boehner and the useless will give us a shutdown again in the New Year."
Sad but it is not a big surprise. GOP has vowed to mess up things and impede Obama. Nothing about jobs or policy or ideology or suggestions or the people. Just stop stuff. Why do you think they were out advertising to stop young people from signing up for ACA? To be able to mess it up by having young people not sign up.
When sabotage of any government action is your only goal, you are an anarchist.
