Washington (CNN) –– When Republican Rep. Paul Ryan and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray held a news conference - together - to announce that they reached a deal on the federal budget, the ideological opposites received immediate praise for their cooperation.
And they reached their agreement that would avert a potential government shutdown in January just two days before the Congressionally imposed deadline for doing so.

For realz. The GOP/Teatrolls are already publicly stating that they plan to go into meetings after the new year to determine what they're going to demand in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. It'll be back to standard GOP/Teatroll hostage taking, obstruction and symbolic messaging legislation before you can finish the holiday leftovers.
Bottom line: this 2 year "bipartisan" budget deal will last approximately a month before the GOP/Teatrolls renege on it and demand that the entire budget be cut even more "or we'll shoot the hostage."
They never met a deal they could keep or a goal post they wouldn't move.
The GOP simply needs to be held accountable for their insurrection and obstructionism. If they lose enough elections, maybe they'll figure out this economic brinksmanship really doesn't jazz anyone but the crazy, and they'll start being responsible players again. That they even contemplate yet ANOTHER budget showdown (that is, without actually passing one first) is borderline insane and unbelievable. Are they really THAT stupid? Or, are they just addicted to their self-imposed chaos. In either event, this is a direction the GOP can no longer be allowed to travel.
Look, the parties got something positive going. It isn't about whether this is progress or pragmatism, or even who wins or loses. This is about getting something done for our nation. The recent budget plan bill was a commendable first step. Don't allow the GOP back into their shutdown ways and days because of a non-news blog filler or while looking for gotcha moments.
Oh Terrific lets screw our vets some more-how about cutting the fine china, free lunches etc for the Gov and giving to men and women who stood tall for us ??? We OWE THESE PEOPLE lets quit walking on them.
@Sniffitt, why be so negative? It's a step in the right direction, is it not? Look at it this way, without a deal to break, you would have to find something else to attack the Republicans on....,not that you'd have much trouble.
@yolanda–It is not like it is difficult to find things to question the GOTP on. For some reason asking questions, like why have you blocked any forward movement in the country for five years, and expecting an answer is considered an attack.
@Don, I'm not defending them, nor am I gullible enough to place all of the blame on them, either. Both sides of the aisle are an embarrassment.

It would be a step in the right direction if the GOP/Teatrolls didn't simply intend from the get-go to try to take two steps back all along. As for "find" that implies I'd have to look, and so far it seems to me that all you really have to do is sit still and they'll serve you things to criticize them for on a silver platter all day long 🙂

While asking questions like "where's duh berf surtifikayt????" is considered MSM ad revenue gold.

It's always about money, don. You libruls can't balance a checkbook, even with other people's money. Why do you want insolvency any sooner than it's already coming? Can't wait, huh?
