(CNN) – Like many Americans, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley chose to share what she got for Christmas via social media.
Santa’s gift for the first-term Republican? A semi-automatic pistol.
“Our family had a wonderful Christmas together! I must have been good. Santa gave me a Beretta PX4 Storm,” Haley said in an Instagram post that included a photo of the weapon.
Haley has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association, and hasn’t been shy about her fondness for guns in the past, including by test-firing a fully automatic machine gun at a state firearms manufacturer over the summer. Her husband is a member of the Army National Guard.
Haley announced over the summer that she is seeking a second term in her conservative, GOP-leaning state.
I hope Governor Haley won't be allowed anywhere near any elementary schools.
ThinkAgain
@Tampa Tim: "Isn't the a Beretta PX 4 one of the guns President a Obama is taking away?"
How is President Obama taking any gun away when the NRA and their lackeys the tea bags has Congress by the short hairs? Even though a majority of Americans support it, any bill that puts reasonable controls on gun purchases never makes it out of committee. (My source: A Fox News poll conducted in April of this year that found that 82% of voters, 72% of Republicans, and 77% of people from gun-owning households support expanding background checks on all gun sales.)
So again, just exactly WHAT is President Obama "taking away"?
well, if obama aint taking it away, the UN surely will!
"Ok, Rudy. I'm calling you out on this incredible fabrication. First, they were angry because their names were printed without their permission. They isn't one article talking about an uptick in crime in their neighborhood...you just flat out made that up. Once again, you try to deflect my point with some frivolous drivel that has no foundation in reality nor fact. Why do you do that? Why can't you just admit that sometimes your wrong rather than give absolutely false information to try to support your argument? So. Very. Pathetic."

You are so wrong about there being no break-ins that it is pathetic. Alleged break-ins is the reason they used in court to get their personal info taken out of the public record, dude. And, guess what? There were a number of homes that suffered break-ins following the publishing of the addresses, but no direct link could ever be established. Some claims were suspect, too.
====
So I finally found an article about what you're talking about. So it was ONE break in. One. There was no proof it was attributable to the article that gave out the names. You are making that assumption. You alone. You pass off as fact something that you feel is correct but have no evidence nor proof to support your claim. You, my friend, are just simply not telling the truth. You are severely exaggerating and taking out of context to try to support your point.
tom and Rudy: about 250,000 firearms are stolen per year during burglaries. If you think there's no market for burglarizing with stealing the household's guns specifically in mind, then you need to rethink it. Improper, irresponsible and negligent gun storage is a major cause of "hot gun" crime...not to mention gun injuries in general.
So what. Most people I know got a gun for Christmas. If santa thought she was really good she would have received a Sig Sauer, H&K or a Kimber.
And the glorification of owning a gun continues...
So she legally acquired a firearm and posted it to social media? Was she breaking a law or something? Why is this news?

Rudy makes it up as he goes. He's been caught posting many lies in here. Others think he is just a drunk that can't keep track of all his lies.
"......and dear Jesus, I want to thank you for the gun I was given for the celebration of your birth. But what happened to the bottle of Jack Daniels I also asked for?"
too funny.... the sight of a gun on the ticker gets the looney left going as much as a picture of sarah palin! maybe i could try and get a picture of palin and rush both holding guns? that should make all of the lefties heads explode!
Nikki Haley got a gun for Christmas? How very impressive.
Nikki Haley panders her gun for votes. Even more impressive.
Or not. (Her present and her pandering.)
Showing her Christian family values, is she? What a piece od work...
" You, my friend, are just simply not telling the truth. You are severely exaggerating and taking out of context to try to support your point."
Reminds me of a thread or so back where 'someone' made the claim that 11 of the countries 18 largest hospitals didn't take Obamacare... like it was an insurance or something. MY response didn't post (I've noticed left leaners can be called anything in the book, but if you respond.... you get moderated).
Projection....
Obama – Liar of the Year
'Rudy makes it up as he goes. He's been caught posting many lies in here. Others think he is just a drunk that can't keep track of all his lies.'
Says the worst and lamest liar that post his own 'manufactured facts' (AKA lies) on this blog.
Have you no shame?
Of course not, silly me of thinking that you could still have some decency left...
Where I live, people start getting guns as gifts around age 6.
This type of "press release" makes it difficult to identify Haley as more of a Tool or a Fool. It seems that she has become "Palin on Steroids."
It's good to see a responsible governor who has a family member in the military.
It's what the Christ intended, I'm sure.
Question for CNN: Why is this anymore significant a news item than if the Governor had received a bicycle for Christmas? I think your liberal slant is leaking through.
Ah keeping the Jesus in CHristmas she is!
@Sniffit
Isn't breaking and entering, and theft of a firearm illegal?
Are Glocks still good? I wouldn't mind one of those!
To Sniffit: .....or in the case of Chicago, the politicians being buddy-buddy with the street gangs while at the same time de-crying guns.
@Sniffit: "tom and Rudy: about 250,000 firearms are stolen per year during burglaries. "
Other fun facts (google firearms stolen during household burglaries and read for yourself):
Overall, about 1.4 million guns (an annual average of 232,400) were stolen during burglaries and other property
crimes in the 6-year period from 2005 through 2010. Of these stolen firearms, at least 80% (186,800) had
not been recovered according to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) interview (published Nov. 2012).
Handguns were the most common type of firearm stolen (at least one handgun was stolen in 63% of burglaries involving gun theft).
About 4 of 5 firearms stolen during household property crimes were not recovered (in 83% of burglaries and 85% of other property crimes that involved a stolen firearm, none of the stolen guns had been recovered).
Yippee!! What a goof!! Go tell the Newtown parents. See what they say.
