(CNN) – As a woman and her husband were opening a late-arriving Christmas box on Tuesday, they found among their own gifts a present from President Barack Obama and his family.
Alane Church, who lives in Wadsworth, Illinois, north of Chicago, said they discovered an already-opened gift addressed to "Mama Kaye," a close friend of the first family and the godmother to Sasha and Malia Obama.

Church showed the gift - a photo book of the Obamas - to CNN affiliate WLS. She said she verified the godmother's address and plans to return it to her as soon as possible.
"I really care about photographs and books and all that stuff, so I thought she's going to really be missing not having this," Church said.
In an interview on NBC's "Today" show on Thursday, Church said the box of packages arrived in "major disarray," with the gifts already broken open.
"At the bottom of the box was this extra gift, and we were reading the tag trying to figure out where this came from," she said. "It was opened, and we then discovered this was a very personal gift to Mama Kaye."
A White House official confirmed that the President and First Lady sent a book of photos to Sasha and Malia's godmother for Christmas.
"There was an errant delivery but we're appreciative of the effort underway to make sure the gift arrives at the intended destination soon," the official added.
USPS says they're looking into the situation.
