Washington (CNN) - Just days after dismissing two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing questions over the use of Superstorm Sandy relief funds.
CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used those relief funds to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family.

Aw geez Sniffit, just give me the lowdown. I can't be seen Googling AND blogging! lol

Two words: Hudson Lights.
Let there be Googlez...

Are you referring to the company that sells lighting, the band, or the Christmas walkthru display at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, CO? I googled Hudson Lights, and those three subjects were the whole of the entire first page.
On a serious note... the way things are looking so far, they may have to open two more lanes for the state officials getting in line to have a little 'payback' of their own on this big bully.
-------------------------------------------------Here's the thing that Christie and those that he "allowed" (yes, that's the word that he used in reference to his top aides) to form part of his inner circle myopically overlooked: when you screw or rollover people as you're climbing the ladder of success, or worse, entrenched in a powerful position, you have to cover all of your bases.Primarily because what you're doing isn't quite kosher, and just as importantly because you're pissing people off in the process.
Christie and his aides sloppiness makes me think of that song "How Long Has This Been Going On?".
I guess we're getting ready to find out, huh?
Google "Hudson Lights project," people. It is right next to the George Washington Bridge.

I think Sniffit may be referring to Hudson Lights in Fort Lee New Jersey. Contracts, bids....
Rick McDaniel's comment is completely predictable. He fails to realize Christie would have been the only candidate from the GOP Clown Car Democrats could have tolerated. It was right-wingers going after him because he believes in compromise. Since Christie's history now moderate independents will only vote for a Democrat.
The Hudson Lights project is an interesting angle to this, I'd be interested to see if Hudson Lights did or didn't donate money to Christies reelection campaign, if they didn't then suddenly did after the lane closures, it certainly makes one wonder if there isn't something else there! A Jersey style shake down maybe?

It might not be getting much press yet. Hudson Lights is a billion dollar development going in right by the Bridge and will be a major boon to Sokolich's legacy and for the local economy in an area that is chock full of Democrats. The bridge closings just so happened to have coincided with major financing activity and deadlines for that development. Anyone who knows anything about development knows that traffic issues, access, ease of ingress/egress, effects on the neighborhood traffic, etc., are major concerns for permitting agencies, the developer (who typically must spend oodles of money on its own traffic studies) and financial backers. Deliberately manufacturing massive traffic jams on the bridge right around the time that funding was going to be produced was sure to cause financiers to delay and ask questions. It also could have been a way of justifying pulling any public funding or demanding that the developer spend more money on traffic studies of its own, etc. It also could have been an attempt to cause the neighborhood to start complaining about potential traffic problems from the development. I'm not really making any accusations, merely stating the possibilities that should be investigated, but the presence of that billion dollar development can't be ignored just because the MSM likes the "revenge for no endorsement" narrative better.

Well Golley Gheez,
Did the Feds investigate Solendra and some other screw ups by Obama? Probably not. Well if you are going to start cleaning house you have about 17 Trillion dollars to go. That is a job not even Superman can do.
That's absolutely totally political. There was nothing wrong with Christie using his public persona, to convince people, it was ok to return to the Jersey shore, for vacation.

Thanks for clarifying that y'all, and:
Aha! The plot thickens, and it's looking worse and worse for leadership at the top of the NJ foodchain! Sure deflates the talking points of the rick mcdaniels of the world who are convinced it's all a "librul" conspiracy concocted entirely by the Obama administration because christie is RWNJ's 2016 contender, or to distract from one of the countless so-called "Obama scandals" (the RWNJs created out of whole cloth BTW and which have been debunked to infinity), or something.

Did the Bush administration investigate what happened to all of those pallets containing billions of dollars in U.S. dollars that the private contractors had somehow managed to lose track of in Iraq? You know, I think they did. They concluded that honest mistakes were made, and that more pallets of cash must be sent to replace what was lost.

Whenever I'm in Clearwater, Florida I buy a couple of slices from a shop that imports their water from NYC. Not sure what it is about that water, but the pizza is second only to the pizza in Naples, Italy.
I am convinced that right wingnuts should not comment on any of the Faux conspiracies that Fox has created, as they are reality challenged. They should stick to the war on Christmas and Santa.

Not sure what "Solendra" is, but heaven knows if there was anyting to investigate, issa and his rightwing witch hunt committee would have come up with SOMETHING by now. As for your $17T figure, that's number includes debts run up by previous admistrations as well, and includes those off the books expenditures not factored in by the previous occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue such as Medicare Part D and two wars! If President Obama were to keep those three boondoggles off the books the way the previous occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue did, the federal deficit would be considerably lower.
I dont think New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being truly honest .
"It's the beer he drinks... brewed in NY with the purest Hudson River water."
Now now...why would I prefer that over the lovely, pristine Charles River?
"That's absolutely totally political. There was nothing wrong with Christie using his public persona, to convince people, it was ok to return to the Jersey shore, for vacation."
Issa and the House Teatrolls would each poop an alien if Obama did the same thing and you know it.
Firstly, recess appointments have been done by many previous Presidents – GWB, Clinton, GB, Reagan... so why is it when a black President does it, it gets challenged???
Secondly, all these blockings of administrative appointments don't make sense. The top guy, the President, should have the power to hire and fire people. So if a new President is elected, he can fire everyone appointed by the previous President.
"revenge for no endorsement"
Rachel Maddow's theory is gaining traction also. It seems more reasonable than the 'revenge for no endorsement', which was the early on theory, but makes less sense as more facts are uncovered.
Rick M. writes "There was nothing wrong with Christie using his public persona, to convince people, it was ok to return to the Jersey shore, for vacation."
There sure is something wrong if you used money which was supposed to go towards relief- thus the federal probe. See Rick, Federal probes are actually conducted when there is enough evidence of wrongdoing to warrant one. I'm sure you have become confused by Derwood Issa's investigations, which are not really investigations at all and have nothing to do with any actual evidence. Those are just taxpayer funded political witchhunts only conducted against Democrats and since none of them have uncovered any wrongdoing I can see where your confusion may lie... that and your failure to properly take your your meds.
I'm sure you would be posting an entirely differrent angle should Christie have had a D after his name.
And besides... seeing Christie frollicking on a beach in a speedo, wouldn't exactly alleviate my fears ...
'ol Christy is going to end up on anti-depressants, before November 2016 – he used to be the big white hope to us Independents – but unfortunately, he's the opposite.....I'm not sure IF the "Hill dog" is going to run....when I talk to some of the people in the buckeye state, some say she's too old to run....I say she's going to wait till after the mid-terms, IF it goes to a repub sweep, then she's most likely not to run.....she would not be able to get anything accomplished, when you have the opposite party controlling congress.
well christie, looks like you're getting what you deserve from obama, who you helped get re-elected. your warm embrace of him is returned with a knife in the back. that's what everybody has been warning you about. when you get in bed with dogs, don't be surprised when you wake up with flies.
