Washington (CNN) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned aside Arizona's appeal to reinstate its law banning most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
A federal appeals court last year said the restrictions were unconstitutional.

The high court's refusal without comment to intervene now means the provisions passed in 2012 cannot be enforced.
Twelve states have similar laws, shortening the period the high court established four decades ago, after it said abortion should be legal until viability, when a fetus is generally believed to survive outside the womb. Current medical science puts that at about 24 weeks into the pregnancy.
Legal challenges in other states are working their way through the courts, including in Texas, which passed a variety of measures over access to abortion.
The case is Horne v. Isaacson (13-402).

“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.”

Instead of calling the police, you're going to be the hero and save the day by stopping said thug? How? "Thou shalt not kill." What are you going to do?
No. I am saying that original argument is that "let others commit crimes if they want, I wont do so and thast enough". Here the state is defining crime and catching thug. Similarly they should define ab0rt1on as a crime and protect unb0rn humans too.
“The civil government functions with complete success by the total separation of the Church from the State.”
~James Madison, 1819, Writings, 8:432, quoted from Gene Garman, “Essays In Addition to America’s Real Religion”
Basically when the link b/w s3x and having child is broken, promiscuity comes in. Bad morals come in. marriages dont form or break down. When having becoming pregnant is natural consequence of having s3x, man and woman form permanent bond. Said kid has a mom to learn how to be woman and a dad to know how to be man. Natural order of things (Child needs both mom and dad for above reason).
ANALOGY >>>
Lets not punish criminals. natural consequence: robbery and crime and murder rise. Society goes to seed.
@SoldierOfConscience "Bad morals come in."

Oh and to fix this I just bet you have the perfect little religion to straighten us all out. How come the Radical Right Theocracy, the Taliban and cults all start to look the same after a while. They all have the perfect religion to get us all lock-stepping toward heaven.
OR we could hang on to that crazy scary Freedom of Religion thing that the Founding Fathers talked so much about.
“And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.”

In the eye's of the pro-life movement, life begins at erection.
-
True. Furthermore, their concern for that life ends at birth, at which point that precious life becomes a tax dollar sucking leech.

Another prime example that personal responsibility does not exist according to liberals. Let’s not mention the mother that brought 8 children into this world without any possibility of providing for them., no not her fault is it, she had nothing to do with it....
“Knowledge and liberty are so prevalent in this country, that I do not believe that the United States would ever be disposed to establish one religious sect, and lay all others under legal disabilities. But as we know not what may take place hereafter, and any such test would be exceedingly injurious to the rights of free citizens, I cannot think it altogether superfluous to have added a clause, which secures us from the possibility of such oppression.”
~Oliver Wolcott, Connecticut Ratifying Convention, 9 January 1788
@SoldierOfConscience: "Basically when the link b/w s3x and having child is broken, promiscuity comes in."
You do realize, don't you, that promiscuity has been around since the dawn of time ... and that marriage was invented as a way to keep men from abandoning their responsibilities, right?
"its a strange world where people celebrate abortions"
Ever have an abortion? Do you know someone who has had an abortion? I don't know of anyone who "celebrates" it.
If you are truly, really, absolutely against abortion – then support free birth control. Access to reliable, affordable birth control is the most effective way (besides abstinence) to prevent abortion.
Abortion is wrong, especially after 20 weeks. It should be banned. It should be the baby's choice.
