Washington (CNN) - A conservative group that's spent millions attacking Democrats over the new health care law this election cycle is going up with a new TV commercial supporting a Republican congressman in Montana who's running for that state's open U.S. Senate seat.
The ad by Americans for Prosperity thanks Rep. Steve Daines for his fight against the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare.

"Congressman Steve Daines said no to Obamacare. He knew it would hurt Montana families. Steve Daines voted to stop Obamacare," says the narrator in the spot.
The narrator also says that "Daines worked to protect our right to keep our doctors and health care choices," before using a clip of President Barack Obama saying "If you like your current insurance, you keep that insurance."
Late last year PolitiFact called that controversial line from the President the 'lie of the year'.
AFP says they're spending $400,000 to run the commercial for three weeks statewide on TV in Montana.
Daines is running for the seat currently held by longtime Democratic Sen. Max Baucus, who last year announced he wouldn't run for re-election in 2014. National Republicans see the seat as a strong pickup opportunity.
AFP group, backed by the deep pockets of the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers, has spent nearly $22 million so far this midterm cycle to attack Democratic lawmakers and praise Republican members of Congress over the health care law.
Earlier this week, they launched new ads criticizing Democratic Reps. Bruce Braley of Iowa and Gary Peters of Michigan, who are both running to keep open Senate seats in party hands.
Earlier this month the group went up with a multi-million dollar ad campaign targeting Democratic Sens. Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire over Obama health care pledge.
All three Senators are up for re-election this year, and Hagan and Landrieu face challenging bids to keep their seats. The group has also hammered some House Democrats over the pledge.
House Majority PAC, a group that backs House Democrats, says it will go up with TV ads Thursday supporting two of those representatives under attack by AFP: Ron Barber and Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona. The PAC says they'll spend $200,000 to run spots in Phoenix and Tuscon for a week.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is also pushing back against AFP, with words.
"The Koch brothers are worth over $100 billion so it’s no surprise they are spending a fraction of their fortune to buy themselves a U.S. Senate that works for them and against the middle class. The Kochs and other Washington special interest groups will continue to spend millions in order to send more Tea Party Republicans to Washington so they can push their reckless and irresponsible agenda that includes ending Social Security and Medicare as we know it, eliminating student loans, stopping the renewal of unemployment benefits, fighting against raising the minimum wage, and pushing our country to the brink of default in order to pay for bigger tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations," said DSCC Press Secretary Justin Baransky, in response to the new ad.
