(CNN) - It looks like Gov. Chris Christie may have a Bruce Springsteen problem.
Christie's music idol took the stage Tuesday on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" with the show's host to sing a parody about the bridge controversy surrounding the New Jersey governor.

Singing to the tune of Springsteen's classic "Born to Run," Fallon kicked off the song dressed up as the legendary rockstar.
"In the day we sweated out on the streets stuck in traffic on the GWB / they shut down the toll booths of glory cuz we didn't endorse Christie," Fallon sang, strumming his guitar.
A couple lyrics later: "Maybe this bridgegate was just payback / It's a bit** slap to state Democrats / We gotta get out while we can."
Then he hit the chorus: "We're stuck in Governor Chris Christie's Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam."
Emerging from backstage, the New Jersey born-and-bred Springsteen joined Fallon, dressed in the same outfit.
"Governor, let me in, I want to be your friend, there'll be no partisan divisions / let me wrap my legs round your mighty ribs, relieve your stressful condition," he sang. "Man I really gotta take a leak, but I can't / I'm stuck in Governor Chris Christie's Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam."
Fallon and Springsteen also took a shot at Christie's nearly two-hour press conference last week, in which he announced he fired two of his top aides and said he was never involved or had any knowledge of the plot to close access lanes to the George Washington Bridge.
"Highway's jammed with pissed off drivers with no place left to go, and the press conference went on and on," Fallon sang.
Springsteen jumped in: "It was longer than one of my own damn shows."
Christie has never been shy about his adoration for Springsteen, a New Jersey icon. The governor has reportedly been to more than 130 of "The Boss's" concerts.
But the musician, a known Democrat who campaigned for President Obama in 2012, has never quite returned the same admiration. While he praised Christie for his leadership in the immediate aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, he has done little else to show high regard for his superfan.
In his State of the State speech on Tuesday, Christie addressed the bridge scandal. Newly released documents suggested last week that his top aides orchestrated the closing of access lanes to the nation's busiest bridge in an alleged act of political retribution.
That's Springsteen on the left? Wow – he's really cut! Fabulous for a guy in his sixites!
Hilarious! Now you've got the Boss joking you Christie. This story is not going away.
Awesome! That was very funny!!!
Springsteen and Fallon, are both die hard partisans..........who would allow a dictator to take control of America, as long as it was from THEIR political party.
What is worse then your idol making fun of you?
I still have a hard time understanding the level of callousness those staffers had to hold innocent people hostage on the bridge for nothing other than spite. I'm sure they were everyday people doing their chores, commuting to or from work, who would have much rather spent their time at home with their kids, rather than in traffic. We're stuck in it enough, don't make it worse. Kudos to Springsteen for not fawning all over Christie. He supported Obama, but kept it respectable, he doesn't seem to get caught up in the "spotlight or power" part of politics. Good for him and Fallon on this one!
Like most bullies, Gov Christie is his own worst enemy. Appearing contrite and humble was only for show, his true nature will emerge again with a vengeance.
Clearly CNN has confused politics with entertainment – again.
Fair – you mean like yesterday's Romney dance story?
Haha...that's gotta sting to have your favorite musician sing a song mocking you.

Yeah.. and yesterday's Miami Heat story as well. At least those 2 involved someone in politics... unlike these 2 clowns.
Christie is burned toast for 2016.

It's really gotta hurt when you're mocked on national television.
OK so the wacko's can have Ted Nugnet, and the rest of us will keep the Boss
Sorry but very tired of entertainers being portrayed as somehow having power of intellect... Too bad this society is so star driven they equate that stardom with intellect
