(CNN) - Gov. Chris Christie's camp pushed back hard Saturday against allegations by a New Jersey mayor that administration officials threatened to withhold Superstorm Sandy relief funding unless she supported a redevelopment plan favored by the governor.
Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer appeared on MSNBC Saturday to level charges that members of Christie's administration pressured her to approve the project sought by The Rockefeller Group, a real estate developer with ties to the Christie's administration.
MSNBC said its story is based on an interview with "the mayor and e-mails and personal notes she shared with MSNBC."

Looks like we have a chubby boy with his hand in the cookie jar, as my old Pappy used to say!
Let's let this nightmare play out to it's conclusion. If the Gov. is guilty, he will be exposed. Let's not play the games that the career criminal and sociopath, Darrel Issa plays. We should be above that nonsense. Only intellectually challenged people listen to his Benghazi rantings.
It would fit the presumed pattern that goes with the bridge scandal.
this here big tubby guy wil be our next prsdent, not no colored boy or women like holary, i seed that on FOXX news ans they do not lie! take that to the banks!
Now another Mayor has come forward with tales of your brutality. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?
Please resign for the sake of our great state!
Someone isn't telling the truth...lots of money went to relief. Who got what and why will always be debated. When the sh"#t hits the fan it really gets messy. You have to wonder if Romney knew Christie had these sketchy issues surrounding him when they vetted him. I would say yes. The tea party has done a real good job of making mud stick to the governor from New Jersey.
It's always funny to come on here and watch the comments about who's less corrupt when stories like this come out. Both Republicans and Democrats do it and instead of agreeing to that, we focus on one upping the each other while politicians regardless of political party keep moving the needle over and over screwing this country over.
The jokes on us and we still have yet to agree to it and do anything about it.
A real estate developer with ties to the Christie's administration.
Please say it isn't so !
Who needs a mafia when you have such outstanding political leaders .
The governor did not even give Hoboken enough money to mop up the floor after the excrement hits the fan!
Governor, it is expected you would deny; present evidence on how much a relief money Hoboken received to refute the mayor's claim and you will be exonerated.
The over-the-top knee jerk reaction to shoot the messenger reveals how badly rattled Team Christie is. They shot from the hip on this one which shows how hard they are trying to deflect by blaming it on MSNBC for reporting. I'm beginning to believe C.C. never had any real leadership skills – he just pretended to be one and thought his natural bullying skills + ads funded by Hurricane Sandy relief funds would pave his way the to White House.
The mayor has volunteered to testify under oath and to take a lie detector test. So far, none of her detractors have done the same.
Funny how this Mayor suddenly remembers this now.....
Interviewed by the Associated Press last month, Zimmer voiced concerns about the lack of storm aid to her town, but expressed hope that the administration would come through in the next round. She did not mention the real estate development in the interview with the AP.
This is purely political and without any merit at all. Besides, since when has anybody considered MSNBC a reliable source?
MSNBC is NOT a news organization. It is wholly and totally, a propaganda machine of the Democratic Party. Nothing heard there, is at all reliable, honest, or even decent. Just Dem lunatics ranting and raving, and making false accusations against the opposition.
The quickest way to get someone to come up for air, is to tell the truth about them to their faces. This clown is no different than anyone else. He's just a little larger than most, but still afraid of the truth being publicized.
Typical teaklan/repug. Blame everyone but yourself for doing something wrong.
"After Sandy, Hoboken was 80% underwater. Zimmer told CNN last week that Hoboken received only about $300,000 of the roughly $100 million in state funds the city requested for flood prevention. She repeated that figure in her interview with MSNBC."
It'll be interesting to have Christie explain why Hoboken has only received $300,000. Especially considering he spent well over $20 million of relief funding on his campaign ads. Add the over 20 million he spent on an October (vs November) special election for Cory Booker (you know, so Booker voters wouldn't lower Christie's "demographic" reelection percentages) and I have to ask just how into New Jersey is Chris Christie? Might be why Christie doesn't seem to know much of what happens in his own private office or staff. He has simply been too busy running around the country impressing the media.
As far as MSNBC? Yes, well. They aren't in the pocket of Chris Christie. Looks to be a good thing right now, otherwise just think what else might be covered up by this man who is lacking not only in common sense, but actual leadership skills as well. I speak as one who doesn't watch MSNBC but perhaps once every few months. Then again I don't watch cable news but perhaps once a month anyway.
Denial is meaningless when trust is lost. Gov Christie has done nothing to earn back that trust.
Let Christie and his people take lie detector tests and testify under oath. I bet they won't.
Running scared ain't no way to conduct a campaign, girl
What's the matter, Hillary? Do some things matter after all? Were Christie's poll consistent poll numbers that showed him beating you alarming, dearie?
It seem's convenient that she has come out now to slander Christie. Why didn't she come forward when the funds had been withheld? Not to mention she has made statements in the past contrary to her new allegations. If it turns out she is lying Hoboken should run her out of town on a rail. Consider she has held up a project that could have brought jobs to her community and didn't take the Christie administration to task over withholding funds to begin with. The woman is either lying for her democratic cronies, or is completely ineffective as the mayor of Hoboken.
Forget the scandal, let's just blame the press for reporting it. Funny the Republicans don't seem upset when Fox attacks Hillary Clinton over Benghazi.
Many a politician has fled to the comfort of "it's the media" as a source of their problems. Mr. Christie is just sorry all news networks aren't like the foreign-owned, Roger Ailes, that will drive the GOP agenda, and the agenda of America's plutocrats instead of actual reporting. We should be thankful of places like the NYT and MSNBC for cutting through the GOP nonsense and reporting real news. Pay attention CNN.
Oh, Ricky, I'll bet Faux News told you to say that.
@Rick McDaniel
