(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin reposted a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have A Dream" speech on Monday–and took a swipe against President Barack Obama at the same time.
"Mr. President, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and all who commit to ending any racial divide, no more playing the race card," she said in a Facebook post Monday, a holiday that marks the civil rights icon's birthday.

While the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee didn't give a specific example of Obama playing the "race card," her comment comes after the President referenced his race in a New Yorker article published over the weekend.
"There's no doubt that there's some folks who just really dislike me because they don't like the idea of a black President," Obama said.
The quote came in a section of the story about his declining poll numbers among white voters over the last year. He also lost the voting demographic by a wide margin in his 2012 re-election bid, the article notes.
According to CNN national exit polls, Obama won only 39% of the white vote.
"Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I'm a black President," Obama added.

Yes, Sarah Palin, you n i t w i t.
Barack Hussein Obama played the ULTIMATE race card.
He did this by being elected POTUS, not once, but twice.
The gall of that uppity man!
She is 100% correct. BO is ALWAYS doing that, playing the "I'm Black" card. Hey....Mr. Prez, your poll numbers are declining cause you are doing a horrible job, and not due to the color of your skin.
Too funny ... and too typical: A rightie gets called on their bad behavior and they immediately start blaming the other person.
Why? Because they don't have the stones to admit their mistakes.
Sara Palin is such a hater. She looks like crap, she is still mad because she is not the vice president. Get over it Sara!! you could have run for president instead of Romney.
Sarah Palin is hot. Other than hot she's an idiot!!!
CNN shut down my comment on 'what's-her-name' (no swearing either) and now I shut down CNN a as a viable news source.
This "scatter-brained airhead" is only relevant because so many scatter-brained airheads actually think she's smart and support her. Possibly the most ill-prepared candidate in a national election since the founding of the republic.
When will Palin be kicked to the curb? You know, out where the trash gets picked up?
We love you President Obama, and we thank Dr. King for giving his life for our equality. Not that we're there yet but we have come a long way. God bless you Dr. King, we love you too and every time I step in the voting booth, I think of you and the countless others that were gunned down in the street just so myself and those that look like me can vote.
Happy Birthday Dr.King!
"Palin slams Obama in MLK post"
Who cares?
Palin is the perfect spokesperson for the extreme right: She deftly embodies their idiocy, their bluster, and their vitriol. I hope she continues to embarrass them as she seems to continue to do on a regular basis.
"Strumpet," the Mother Moose, sounds off again.
@PeterD is a Libertarian. How do I know?
Because every Time I read a Policy Statement in my Voters' Pamphlet, all The Libertarians seem to Have a Problem with Their Caps Lock and think that Capitalizing Every other Word is the Same as Writing the Truth or Knowing the Slightest Thing about the Topic in Question.
I don't understand why this lady is even relevant to the national scene. She was only selected as potential running mate because of here gender. What has she done for her state? Time for her to head back to irrelbancy. Bye bye.
"According to CNN national exit polls, Obama won only 39% of the white vote." That does not necessarily mean that whites did not vote for him because he is black (or actually mixed race). Did it not ever occur to the pollsters there could be other reasons? Sounds like CNN jumping to conclusions. Talk abut playing the race card.
I almost feel sorry for her at this point, she does not seem to realize the joke is on her.
Sarah Palin is ignorant and proud of it! ;-(
Jimmy Cameron
When President Obama made the comment that some people view him thru a racial prism what Sarah Palin seems to be missing is the fact that if 20% of white people dislike him just because his color and there is 20% of black people who like him just because he's black, the racist 20% who dislike him amounts to about 50 million people as oppose the 20% of blacks who like him just because of his color which would be about 8 million people.Surely even Sarah Palin must be able see the numbers are just not equal.

Thank you for posting this totally made up rubbish. It seems lies are all the left has these days.
Palin and her confederate flag waving, tea party, bigot friends can find some other country to live in if they hate America so much.
Palin is calling out the obvious.
Obama does what ALL politicians do: chimes in whenever it'll advance him or herself.
Just like the Travon Martin case: he could've been Obama's son. But Obama NEVER mentioned anything of the 3 African American youths that gunned down the Australian jogger 2 or 3 months later.
Obama can and will use the race card whenever it'll help(why mention anything if it doesn't help, right?).
But take heart, everyone: politicians will use ANYTHING: the looks, family, money, religious affiliation, fame, whatever they can, to push themselves into anything for gain.
These are POLITICANS, not STATESMEN.
