(CNN) - Talk about multitasking.
A baby in one arm and State of the Union preparations in the other, the House GOP's highest ranking woman Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers readied for the Republican response to President Barack Obama's annual address while caring for her two-month old baby.

McMorris Rodgers posted the photo to her Instagram account on Friday, four days ahead of the highly-anticipated address.
She posted: "I've got my #SOTU remarks in one hand and 2-month old Brynn in another. It really doesn't get much better than this!"
The five-term Washington Republican was tapped by congressional leaders to deliver the party's response, emphasizing her family's story. Along with the announcement, the GOP also released a video showing McMorris Rodgers getting her kids ready in the morning, discussing working in her father's family owned agriculture business and touting that she was the first child in her family to graduate from college.
In addition to her second daughter, Brynn Catherine, pictured in the Instagram photo, McMorris Rodgers also has a son, Cole, who was born in 2007 with Down syndrome.
The birth of McMorris Rodger's second child, Grace, in 2010 marked the first time a member of House leadership delivered a baby. She is also the first woman to have three children while serving in Congress.

Nice picture.
Try as you will, women know you hate them.
No, CNN.
I . Am. Not. Going. There.
See, this is the problem with the GOP. ONE response to the State of the Union Address given by the President might make sense. Adding the TEA Party response is a wee bit greedy- after all the TEA Party IS the GOP. Now there is a THIRD response, to come from Rand Paul. Enough guys, this is not a contest (or the GOP primaries) someONE should respond on belhalf of the GOP, not three.
Oh give me a break! The lady's child has Down Syndrome yet she voted 40+ times to have the law repealed. A law that directly impacts her child. Talk about a heartless hypocrite.
Right...because the words that come out of her mouth are any more (or less) credible because of the people who came out of her womb? This isn't political journalism. It's a human interest story. But hey, I guess we're supposed to equate her SOTU responsorial GOP/Teatroll talking point regurgitation as untouchable as her child because she was holding both at the same time?
Isn't this what the left finds admirable in a woman? The ability to be a mother and concurrently be successful in her chosen field, intelligent, and classy? There you have it. Right there. It must kill you that she's a conservative republican.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Meanwhile, what is this odd meme the GOP is pushing with Rogers? Sure, I get that she is senior (5 terms) Representative, she is accomplished, and that she comes from a generally more Progressive state and is therefore a good representative of a GOP message, but Boehner hung on the Mom thing. Odd- as that might seem to infer that moms make good legislators, or somehow being a mom made Rogers a better one.
Really? Is that the message the GOP is pushing? Odd for a party that has so few women in elected office, or loses the 19-50 year old female vote by 17 percent.
Dutch/Bad....You don't deserve a break. Reality doesn't fit your agenda so you demean it. Sniffit, you're almost as bad. Both of your approaches to a simple picture is what is wrong with politics today.

Actually, it does not bother us at all: she's proof we were right all along.

She is a photo op to the GOP. GOP is pushing for a distraction from the obvious war on women. And they are sending a message to Tea-hats that they are anti-abortion. GOP: "Get a woman with baby to speak for us. And tell the GOP men to stop talking in public for a little while."
Liberals are generally pro-gun-control. Would you really be fooled if the Dems found a handsome guy with a gun-holster on to speak for them? Would you suddenly think Dems are NRA fans now? No. And I hope all smart voters are not fooled by this shallow sham.

But the GOP's actions speak loader than words.
War on Women – Dudes, we can SEE you.
Thought bubble for the baby: "Really ma? I may have been born almost yesterday, but even I can tell that's a load of horse hockey."

Not so much. She can probably afford to be.
Great picture! Now I hope she can support things that directly impacted her son.

What's killing me is that she belongs to a party that thinks it's the government's busy to tell me about my healthcare choices. Got it?

Sorry, but I call bull puckey when I see it. The reality is that her child has Down Syndrome. In reality, she voted to repeal the ACA which will directly benefit her child. In reality, under the ACA, her child won't have a lifetime cap on the medical services he will need. I bet you $10,000 her rebuttal speech is about repealing the ACA.
"I can't tell which stinks more...my diaper or your talking points."

Seriously. The GOP/Teatrolls need to start planting people in their audiences who can lift up a sign that says "DUDE, YOU'RE SAYING THAT OUT LOUD" when they start to go places like where Huckabee went yesterday, etc.

The killer is the arrogance of THE RIGHT WING to respond with one speech with three, and expect them all to be nationally televised. That's killer arrogance.
@Silence
You have been brainwashed – like so many others. There is no war on women. It was manufactured by Obama. The truth is, there's a war on the American way of life – by this administration. That includes all of us.

Fair.. Nope, that she's a Republican and successful doesn't bother me at all. What DOES bother me is that she has sided with the GOP and voted AGAINST ACA every time – the very legislation that would let her 2007 born Down Syndrome child (and others with pre-existing conditions) not be DENIED healthcare coverage.. or.. maybe due to being a 5-term Republican, it doesn't matter as she already gets free (read: at taxpayer expense) health care??
