First on CNN: Conservative group pushes to topple GOP leaders in Congress

Washington (CNN) - A conservative group is launching a new campaign which calls on "the GOP leadership in both the House and the Senate to step aside."

ForAmerica told CNN that it's putting six figures behind its "Dump the Leadership" campaign between now and November's leadership elections.

The group says that its digital ads will target House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, as well as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Whip John Cornyn, and the group adds that the first paid spots are now up online.

"Time and again, year after year, the Republican leadership in the House and Senate has come to grassroots conservatives, and Tea Party supporters pleading for our money, our volunteers, our time, our energy and our votes," said ForAmerica Chairman Brent Bozell in a statement to CNN. "In return they have repeatedly promised not just to stop the liberal assault on our freedoms and our national treasury, but to advance our conservative agenda. It's been years. There is not a single conservative accomplishment this so-called 'leadership' can point to."

ForAmerica, which describes itself as "an online army of over 4.5 million people," is a conservative non-profit group which has often criticized congressional GOP leaders.

Well, now it's even harder for Republicans to deny that there is a civil war within the party, but they'll do it anyway. They have to.

That is not entirely accurate, but there is no question, that GOP members have not been voting the way their folks back home, expect them to vote. They are NOT however, necessarily all in leadership positions, at all.

The ones I would agree with, are Boehner and McConnell, who absolutely have NOT voted for good, and responsible government. If either were from my state, I would absolutely not vote for them. I also think they should step DOWN from the leadership role, if they do get re-elected. We caan no longer trust their leadership.

Go wingnuts, kick them all out and replace them with truly intransigent purest ideologues that will not even pretend to compromise. Just was the country needs. We should all worship the Kock brothers and Limbaugh. Although Limbaugh is probably too liberal for this group.

The Tea Party is suffering from the same delusion as the MoveOn crowd on the far left. They believe they are in the majority and they simply have not presented a case that convinces anything like a majority of the American citizenry of the correctness of their cause. When you represent only 20% of the population, you don't get your way. It's that simple.

Wonderful news! Love it! This should be the death knell of the tea party. Surely even some conservatives can see how this bunch is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. "If we can't have it our way, no one will have it any way" seems to be their mantra, and it just won't work. They are under the illusion that they actually represent the majority of Americans and they couldn't be more wrong. Can't wait for November!

Time for republicans to repent! Their blind quest for power by any means has come home to roost! Embracing the tea party extreme has bitten them right on their collective asses. (Appropriate since they have been sitting on them for these last six years) Man up and work to serve your country and quit appeasing the extremist elements and we can move forward from here! Grow up!!!

Gotta love it when conservative groups target conservatives members of Congress for not being conservative enough... talk about implosion. Perhaps they should be focusing on the opposition?

You can put every elected republican on the add, as America deserves better. The entire GOP, fueled by billionaires money gives us the party of : Lies, witch hunts, obstruction, government shutdowns, unfunded wars, unfunded drug programs, massive debt, and domestic terrorism.

On this I fully agree with the Conservative Group. Why should they put anyone on power and he doesn't listen to what they want? Does it make any sense really? No, you don't deserve that. Go ahead and show them that you have power as well and never they should underestimate the power you hold.

  16. Joe from CT, not Lieberman

Ah, good old Brent Bozell. The only person more filled with hate against everyone than he is Michelle Malkin. I am surprised her name is not attached to this group, as well.
Bozell is a firm believer than anyone who does not agree with him is a flaming liberal and should be deported to Canada. I wonder how he would like living in a country that consists of himself, the Koch Brothers, the aforementioned Malkin, Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter. Because that would be about it. The only reason I include Palin in this group is she never met a Conservative she didn't immediately agree with, no matter how idiotic he sounds.

The RNC rebranding of the party is a complete failure. The fight for the heart and soul of the GOP begins now and it is going to get ugly. This may hurt the GOP in the November 2014 midterm elections.

Your "conservative agenda" hasn't advanced because the majority of Americans do not want it. You don't want anyone to tell you what to do but you don't mind telling other people how to live their lives. So, I guess "freedoms" only work one way.

And the GOP civil war continues. If this party ever hopes to regain a national standing, it needs t treat special interest groups (like ForAmerica, the various Koch-fuelled bodies, the Rove groups, and even the TEA Party) as pests to be clubbed. The GOP already is too Right of center to remain viable, moving further Right into the insane zone will ensure unelectability for a long time to come.

During a world-wide covered event you could have presented yourselves and your views without embarrassing our nation
    -------------------------------------------------
This interview was brought to you by the same uncivilized "patriots" that yelled out "You lie!" to the POTUS in the midst of a quiet chamber in the middle of his first world-televised State of the Union.
The same folks that cheered when said POTUS was unable to secure the Olympic games and consequently thousands of jobs for OUR country, even though we were in the throes of one of the worst economic recessions ever.
The same folk that quite arrogantly and unpatriotically wanted the Nobel Peace Prize Committee to take back the honor bestowed on their country's President.
The same folks that say and continue to maintain that the POTUS was NOT a citizen of the United States.
The point being that these people know nothing if not how to embarrass us at a domestic and world-wide level.
It is what they do. It is all they do.

I think they should run old John Wayne movies, featuring gun fights to solve social problems. It will invigorate the party's base and possibly result in ForAmerica and the Tea Party having a shoot out with the winner riding off into the sunset.

The sad truth is that no one is pure enough for the activists on the fringes of either party. By definition, governing in a republic means compromise is in order, and when the leadership of the GOP is so frightened by a well-funded fringe movement that they paint themselves into a corner rather than lead, then its the country that suffers, not the conservative movement. can anyone point to a single meaningful contribution Brent Bozell has made to our country?

Well, don't feel bad, they promised us JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!
We haven't seen a single job bill passed yet.
On the contrary, they irrationally shut down the government at one point so that those that did have jobs couldn't were locked out of them.
You can't make these people up...oh, but wait, you have.
