(CNN) - A conservative activist who's challenging a top House Republican Wednesday landed an endorsement from a leading national tea party organization.
But that doesn't seem to be fazing the congressman, Rep. Pete Sessions.

The Tea Party Express announced it was backing Katrina Pierson in her bid to unseat Sessions, the nine-term congressman from Texas and chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee.
"Katrina has been on the front lines, fighting alongside so many grassroots activists here in Texas, and it's time for us to now stand with her," said a statement from the Tea Party Express.
Sessions appeared to brush off Pierson's primary challenge, telling CNN Wednesday on Capitol Hill that "these things happen."
Asked if he was worried about the challenge, Sessions repeated that "these things happen."
Sessions represents the Lone Star State's 32nd congressional district, a solidly Republican district located around North Dallas.
Pierson will be in the nation's capital on Monday for a meet-and-greet with reporters that's being organized by FreedomWorks, a national conservative grassroots group that endorsed Pierson in September. She also enjoys the backing of conservative firebrand Rafael Cruz, the father of Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
But Pierson lags far behind Sessions when it comes to campaign cash. She had $50,000 cash on hand at the end of last year, compared to the nearly $1.3 million Sessions had in the bank.

No wonder Sessions came out today screaming about how "immoral" it would be to extend unemployment insurance.
Let's run that assertion by Pope Francis, shall we?
Ah yes the Baggers. Working their way one day at a time toward destroying America. And creating Amerika.
"WHEN has a republican EVER been a conservative!"
In the MSM's version of reality.
the tea party will be the death of our political system. the big money running this wants to take over the country and the dummies voting for them are just pawns.
Let me guess, she's also supported by the Koch brothers
Speaking of TX, Christie's fundraising trip to TX will be skipped by Rick Perry and Greg Abbot...but you won't hear that on CNN. They only report on it and encourage people to make wild assumptions about it when Dems give Dems the cold shoulder. IOKIYAR
Tea Party , Ted Cruz ,
When will America ever learn ?
If he loses in the primary, it is likely that she will lose in the general election. People don't know about the level of seniority that they would lose if he loses the election. I guess the question is for his constituents if he has represented them well in Congress.
watch out Sessions you are in more danger than you think that said I think you lose the primary and then republicans lose the senate seat, on a federal level tea part advocates are not greatly supported.... to extreme for checks and balances to work/ reduce the hated gridlock

Seems that the Koch brothers are now going after local elections. The cancer grows small then explodes and kills you.
I applaud the people of Coralville, IA who saw through the Koch crap and false and misleading information during a mayoral race..
Where's rove when you need him. Anyone seen him lately? Maybe he's running around the country trying to poison elections from the bottom up.
HILARIOUS watching the Guns Over People tea potty eat each other as they walk the plank toward November.
