Poll: No Rocky Mountain high for Clinton or Christie

(CNN) - It was a crucial swing state that Barack Obama carried in both of his presidential election victories, but a new poll suggests that if Hillary Clinton's the Democratic nominee in 2016, she may have a challenge winning Colorado.

And a Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday also indicates that the George Washington Bridge controversy has hurt New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's standing with voters in the Centennial State.

Boehner signals immigration unlikely this year

(CNN) - U.S. House Speaker John Boehner signaled on Thursday any action on immigration is unlikely this year because House Republicans don't trust President Barack Obama on the issue.

"There's widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws and it's going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes," Boehner told reporters.

Source: Obama offers to stay away from some Senate races

(CNN) - President Barack Obama has told Senate Democrats that he's willing to stay away from election battles where his presence would not be helpful, a Democratic source said - an apparent nod to his poll numbers.

Obama's comments came when he and former President Bill Clinton attended the Senate Democrats' issues conference at Nationals Park on Wednesday.

President promotes religious freedom

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama says that "around the world, freedom of religion is under threat."

And at the annual National Prayer Breakfast Thursday, the President also said he's looking forward to meeting Pope Francis.

2016 watch: Jindal to N.H. next month

(CNN) - Louisiana Gov. and potential 2016 Republican presidential contender Bobby Jindal is heading to New Hampshire next month.

Jindal is scheduled to give the keynote address to the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference on March 14. CNN has also confirmed that while in the Granite State, he'll speak at The PLUS Company’s Wild Irish breakfast, an event that raises funds for the empowerment of individuals with developmental disabilities, and which brings together political and community leaders for a St.Patrick’s Day thumbed comedy roast.
