Sources: House Republicans drop bid to tie other issues to debt ceiling
Washington (CNN) - House Republican leaders have given up efforts to link other issues to raising the federal borrowing limit and will bring up a "clean" debt ceiling measure as soon as Wednesday, GOP sources told CNN Tuesday.
The issue had threatened more congressional gridlock, as President Barack Obama and Democrats rejected any negotiations over the need to increase how much the government can borrow to pay its bills.

Prove it! They may introduce the measure, that doesn't mean they will pass it.
Well almost clean, can't compromise unless they leave a loophole to wiggle out of their concessions. They seriously don't know what a clean bill is.
Its commonly accepted that a clean bill is good for us, and that's precisely why they have such a hard time with it. The gop cringes at the thought of things going well.
Boehner will change his mind by noon, when the baggers take him aside and threaten him.
Did they finally figure out that when they pass a budget that demands a certain level of spending (passed with a strong majority of Republican support), that the spending must then be funded somehow? I hope they continue to address spending in the BUDGETS, and I hope they abolish this debt ceiling nonsense.
It is of course the people that will be left with the bill. Welcome to a return to the 1930's.

Its obvious, you can't trust the gop, they have no boundaries. How anyone could seriously not see them for the power hungry, rich only matter cronies they are.
Give them an hour or tow, then they will change their minds, once the primary threats start to mount.

However, if freedom has the same aversion for the actions of this president and adminstration, then I hope he continues commenting.
Talk is cheap. Bring a clean bill to the floor for a vote. Try it, and let's see what happens to it before it is voted on. Some folks have reputations and voting records to uphold.

You're talking to the House Republicans, right? Their plan is for the GOTP to hold the House in perpetuity, so you couldn't possibly be directing your remarks at Democrats, could you?

Did they get the okay from the Teaparty?
There will be very direct threats from the Koch brothers, then the gop will make some lame excuse why they just can't vote for it.
Maybe they do learn.... or the prospect of a lower than 20% approval frightened them.

GOPpers cannot breath without doing those things.
It has become clear to the Americna people the ONLY way to stop this out of control debt and borrowing is to REMOVE DEMOCRATS FROM OFFICE. It that is not done, spending, debt and borrowing will only increase until the country goes bankrupt. Cutting 2 cents of spending is beyond their capability so they must be removed.
Don't want to distract from all of the disastrous Obamacare news. You can run Democrats, but you cannot hide. Nice of Obama to dump Obamacare onto the next Democrat running for President with his constant delays. He's even running from his own signature legislation. How pathetic is THAT?!
