First on CNN: Christie vacationing in Puerto Rico

Washington (CNN) - On the heels of a major winter storm that blanketed his state with snow, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spent Friday at a resort in Puerto Rico with his family.

CNN was alerted to his whereabouts by a person who saw the governor poolside at a resort in San Juan.

Asked to confirm if Christie is in Puerto Rico, a spokesman for the governor said he is on a brief vacation with his family.

"After the storm had passed, the governor left the state this morning for a long weekend away with his family, and he will return Monday night," said spokesman Colin Reed.

In accordance with state protocol, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is in charge of government business until Christie returns.

Democrats criticized Christie in December 2010 for not cutting short a family vacation to Disney World while a massive blizzard brought New Jersey to a standstill. Guadagno was also out of state at that time.

So, Governor Christie is vacationing in a tropical paradise and we are dealing with another blizzard. Why did you lemmings vote for this jerk?

Yes, Christie is away on storms, and where were the administration when Benghazi US mission was stormed? We did not see much coverage of this absence. The media is always fair, no?

What a joke of an article...

"After the storm had passed, the governor left the state this morning for a long weekend away with his family, and he will return Monday night," said spokesman Colin Reed.

He left after the storm for a 3 day weekend.. so what.

Honestly, who CARES what the man does in his vacation time? What, is he supposed to come back and suffer with his state because of snow? What good would that do... would it reduce the snow or suffering? I'm not a fan of the guy and I don't really care for his personal appearance, but his vacation time is his own.

We have become a dramatic nation over weather, going as far as to name every event. It snowed, get over it.

So what, if he can manage affairs of NJ, from remote, I'm fine. Dude need a vacation, and there will be one thing or another. Important part is, if he has right protocol and things in place to manage this.

Who cares? He's not responsible for driving the plow truck. Not like the guy can't answer his phone if someone had a question....."Governor, my plow truck won't start."...."Did you turn they key?"...."Oh, that worked, thanks."....."That's why I'm the governor and I'm available 24/7 for any problem." Seriously, if he had to be around every time it rained or snowed, or every time there COULD be a crisis, he'd always be at work. How about some real news?

If anyone has ever wondered what media bias looks like, look here.

Reporting about a vacationing leader isn't bad; reporting about exclusively Republican vacationers is.

We all need vacations, more so when the weather in the North East has been awful, to say the least.
Worst winter in warming much ??

So the guy isn't allowed to go away for the weekend just because it snows? And his being back in New Jersey was going to stop the snow from falling how exactly? Who cares. Find something else to worry about for once and give the dude a break.

Christie has the people in his state fooled, so what does it matter if he is on vacation.

He may as well enjoy it now while he can, because it's all going to be over in a few months.

It's better for New Jersey for Christie to be elsewhere.

How was this man to know that we were going to have a bad storm weeks in advance? How are you to know when you book a vacation that there will be a hurricane? Obama knew you couldn'tun keep your plan and your docctor and cnn n doesn't care about that.
