Once criticized for embracing Obama, Christie passes on a presidential dinner
Washington (CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who will be in town for a series of meetings with the nation's governors, will skip dinner Sunday with President Barack Obama to return home to celebrate his daughter's 18th birthday, a Christie aide tells CNN.
Christie will arrive in the nation's capital Friday for the National Governors Association Winter Meeting - an annual four day gathering featuring policy discussions that seek to bring one voice to issues facing the states.
On Sunday, the President will host the governors at the White House for dinner.
Democratic governors and Republican governors also hold separate political meetings over the four days. Christie, who continues to be dogged by the George Washington Bridge investigation, is the chairman of the Republican Governors Association, the political arm for GOP governors.
By leaving on Sunday not only will Christie be able to celebrate his daughter's birthday, he will have the time to "prepare for his annual budget address, which will be held on Tuesday," the governor's aide said.
Christie was fiercely criticized by some Republicans in 2012 for embracing Obama in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy – right before the November elections.
But at a town hall meeting Thursday in Port Monmouth, New Jersey, Christie was critical of how the Obama administration was addressing flood insurance claims.
Christie, who is considering running for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, will be back in the Washington area next month to address the Conservative Political Action Conference.
If Walker, Scott, and Krispy were to show up, the right wingnuts would accuse Obama of running around with criminals.
The more they dig, the more they find, its those answers that only lead to more questions. One could only question what he would have done with the power of the oval office, scary.

Now that my brothers and I have had to fill the role of "Head of Family" these past 10 years, in many ways I appreciate my parents keeping us all together more now than I did while they were alive. For all our differences (and there are many) my brothers and I do try to keep in touch more than we ever did prior.
I readily admit I still miss my dad. So, yeah. Work on THAT relationship first, Chris Christie.
