Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Quiet often she has been ahead of the headline in speeches she has given. We just don't hear about it from our media that ignores the substance of most thing she says.

CNN ignores the substance of what she predicted, in favor of a snarky. We see this all the time from our media. They ignore the substance of most things she says or writes about, and offer a personal attack. CNN proves that point once again.

She didn't claim she had foreign policy experience because of the proximity. The proximity required negotiations with the Russians and the Canadians that included the Alaska Governor's office. She HAS foreign policy experience, and her instincts have proven better than Obama's.

There is a reason why Mrs. Palin was forced to brag. Our media will never admit she is right about anything.

Many Ukrainians predicted this scene when the Budapest Agreement was signed in 1994 that disarmed Ukraine by destroying its nuclear weapons. Every nuclear armed country will now definitely understand that there is no going back. Nuclear arms are necessary to protect territory. What Russia has done is increased the chance of nuclear war immeasurably. Countries will press more fervently to obtain nuclear arms and use the Russian invasion of Ukraine as an example of why to never give them up. Ukraine must re-arm itself with nuclear weaponry ASAP. Brought to you by Bill Clinton (you know, the president in 1994). Ukraine was the first, and will be the last country to give up nuclear arms.

It's none of the business of the USA if it doesn't affect them. And she didn't predict it, she said 'what if'.

CNN is covering up one important fact that destroys their snarky. Mrs. Palin linked to a website that reported this before she did. In other words, she reminds us she was right only after a website pointed out prediction. But hey, why let the facts get in the way of attacking her.
