Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Since Obama is cutting the military maybe we could send a few divisions of newly enlisted food stamp recipients to help the Ukrainians when the fighting starts. Or maybe we could hack into the Kremlins computers and reroute them to an Obamacare website in order to crash their communications systems. I am sure that Ukraine will probably be as well off as Libya or Syria when Obama is done with them. If I could offer the Ukrainians some advice it would be to take help from anyone else other than Obama.

Palin was correct. Obama is a sniveling, weak, limp wristed, college professor with zero experience. His entire life is based on theory that has failed many times throughout history and is crumbling once again. I can't wait for the straw man or blame Bush excuses.

The Dems will never admit Palin is correct because she's conservative. If she had been a dem, they would have loved her. The dems play the fools game and will never figure out the conseratives are on to their idealistic crap. Give em enough rope.

President Ă˜bama blinked when a dinky little third-world country like Syria called his bluff and used chemical weapons on its own people. Putin's giggling in delight because he understands that the little man-child paper tiger in the White House isn't going to do a single thing, no matter how much "concern," "disgust," or "outrage" he expresses.

Russia did the right thing, standing by their agreements to protect, and because of that peace accords, brokered by Russia, mean something.

As for Ukraine, just as with Georgia, Obama's strategy is entirely similar to Bushes...lie about what's happening, claim victory when that lie doesn't actually happen. It's all for the US audience

Thanks for not characterizing her prediction as praise-worthy. Let's keep marginalizing her.

And I'm sure Palin would stop Putin. Palin is a quitter and wouldn't run against Obama and won't run against Hilary. She is afraid and all she does it criticize others but she has no ideas of her own except apple pie and hunting.

Thank you for that irrelevant outburst, Sarah Palin. Now if you'll excuse us, the adults have a world to save.

Just a couple of days ago, Putin (The Man With The Iron Teeth) stated outright that Russia would "respect the Ukraine's borders." This, of course, was EXACTLY like Adolph Hitler signing his name to a treaty that said Germany would never invade Poland. With EXACTLY the same result. And over all this, we have the picture of Obama whispering behind his had to Putin, saying that after he (Obama) was elected he would be able to help Putin more. Now we have the pitiful sound of Obama warning Russia that "we are very concerned" about Russia's military actions! Just pitiful!

She takes credit for something that she actually did not predict. Russia will not invade Ukraine. It will support secessionist sympathies of one part of Ukraine. Sorry. Not the same. France supported the fledgling United States against England. Was that an invasion?

I hate to be an "I told you so" but I predicted Sarah Palin would never hold another office and be reduced to posting sore-loser bitterness from her Facebook page like a jilted teenaged girl.

The left consists of children who have never grown up and accepted responsibilty or acknowledge that the adults who did grow up (concervatives) know what's best for them. They ridicule instead of reason, belittle and grow even more defiant and angry when proven wrong.

I cannot believe that the haters are STILL trying to pump this the pathetic "Russia from my house" meme. They have nothing else. SO ignorant.

Palin is a child. Not only is she not qualified to run our country, she continues to use inflammatory statements to prove her worth. Unfortunately for her, she is no longer of any political asset to anyone... she quit, she is a quitter.

Palin smarter than Obama and Biden on this one. Putin has no respect for Obama and feels free to do what he wants, knowing that Obama has more " flexibility."

Sarah hit this one. Problem is Sarah runs her mouth a lot, so she's bound to be right once every couple years.
Unfortunately, most US presidents often have to make more than one decision every couple years.
