Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

I can never pass up a Palin story; she really gets on my nerves. Frankly she does not have the intelligence to come up on her own with anything related to foreign policy or anything else of importance in the world She lucks out now and then and comes up with something to brag about. She wants so badly to be taken seriously but just doesn't have the brains to do anything other than bash anything and everything President Obama does.

There is nothing relevant ab out Palin. She is a distraction, good for nothing but throwing red meat to the I-hate-Obama crowd.

Typical CNN viewer responses to anything Sarah Palin says or does as they project their own narrow minded stupidity on to her as they have been directed to do by the MSM. These are the pathetic Dem myrmidons who elected Obama and, I suspect, will elect Hillary Clinton whose qualifications for the job are on a par with Obama's.......meaning there are none.

You are critical of Sarah Palin? But not a word about the incompetence of the person you elected president?

You all are ignoring the obvious . She would have been the V.P. and we have seen some hints about how John would have handled the situation . Not to well I would think ........

Palin, nailed it in 2008, when she pegged Obama for the quisling that he really is...and has been from the beginning...proving that she is a better judge of character than half the country and not just the pretty airhead the liberal media wishes that she was. Name one other person that made that call...?

Obama don't cross this red line. There will be consequences? A dictator telling another dictator what not to do.
We know the US pushed the demonstration , they funded the uprising now Russia will crush it. Putin knows who is in the White House. Let's cut our defense and military I think in retro this was another failure of this admin. Please tell me how more countries will this white ruin? Egypt, Libya, Syria, United States, and now the Ukraine.

I'd like to beat the crap out of everyone if you people still poking fun at her. She was right; you and your ilk are wrong. You all vote for your communist big brother Obama and you will ask her what you deserve. The only problem is that you're dragging the rest of us down with you.

It is time for a woman in the White House. Sarah is the right one for the job. 80% approval rating as governor (has anyone else ever had such a high # ?) Funny, she actually did redistribute the wealth, giving each citizen about $3300 in oil royalties, and completely changed how the oil companies do business in Alaska, no small feat. Balanced the budget, too. What did Obama, or Hilary for that matter ever do that was comparable? Speak up, let's hear. Talk substance, not delivery.

    Go Sarah.

So Palin makes a claim based upon the history of Putin, gets it right, gets attacked for it on CNN, while the sheep moan about her when she has zero power over them, yet completely ignores the impotence of the administration. Congratulations liberal left, your blindness to the obvious is unparalleled.

"Uncontested arrival" is such an Orwellian distortion of the word invasion, but just what I expect from the propaganda arm of the Democrat party. Keep repeating those White House talking points, CNN.

The libs had their heads in the sand in 2008 which is why we are in this predicament. Unfortunately, I do not see them pulling their heads out any time soon and Putin et al will just keep on rolling.....

Too bad for Tina Fey, who didn't have the knowledge or understanding of foreign policy to grasp what Sara was saying at the time. Nor did Tina Fey take the time to bother.
She is, after all, just a comedienne starring in really dumb movies, folks.

Isn't it disturbing that most of those who can't admit Sarah was right, probably believe she said 'I can see Russia from my house'? I blame the failure of generations of teachers for the dumbed down democratic base. To the low infos, a pack mentality that regurgitates utter nonsense must remind them of their high schools days when they never did their own homework...

Bwahaha, Palin was right again. And that spineless wimp Obama is once again proven to be without power or significance throughout the world! We have an affirmative-action looser for a President, and everyone but the fawning media knows it. Obama, just shut-up with your idle threats and resign. We'll take Biden for the next 2 yrs – he couldn't do any worse . . .

Putin left office as president of Russia and became the Prime Minister of the country from 2008 – 2012. Then after some deal making he was re-elected president in 2012. An unheard of maneuver in Russia. Now in 2014 she wants to claim she was prescient enough to foresee all of that happening to make her absurd and inaccurate claim as something of a 'I told you so' that Putin would be president in 2014 and behave accordingly. HAHA. I guess she figured that all out while reading US Weekly and TV Guide! The woman is an absolute loon!

Obama: "What should I have done, I just found out about it in the newspapers like you did?" Hillary: "What difference does it make?" (The adults are in charge, yeah right!)
