Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Most of the commenters here seem to prefer to make stale old "Palin" jokes rather than look at the weak, weak man that they elected president.

If Palin was president Putting would have invaded the U.S. 7 years ago while she and her twin id!ots (McCain/Graham) were busy fighting Iran.

    She was exactly right.

We have an unqualified, spineless nincompoop community organizer vs. Head of KGB.

Gee, we never saw that coming in 2008. Crazy conservatives.

Yeah, we're so fortunate to have this master of foreign policy in charge, right Obama worshippers?

Political theater. Obama told Medvedev to inform Putin that when he is re-elected he (Hussein Muslim Obama) would "be able to get more done". All caught on open mic. Hussein O. and Putin are on the same team here, this is what most do not comprehend. Hussein O. may very well attempt to stay around beyond his 8th year, and he will permit Russia and China to invade us if he does.

Oh, the fact she claims she anticipated tensions between Russia and Ukraine gave her foreign policy cred. That's funny. She couldn't name a world leader. Did she also anticipate tensions between the Koreas or with China or Israel with Hezbollah as well. She's better off on the sidelines pontificating about nothing

Obama is nothing but a joke to foreign leaders. He and his administration have zero credibility. Everyone knows he doesn't have the experience or ability to deal with Russia.

We are paying the price for electing a rank, unvetted, amateur to the office of President. Sarah Palin had run a state. Obama had run his mouth.

With 20/20 hindsight, Palin would have been dramatically superior to Obama as president.

Let me get this straight. Which I am by the way. 28 years of continuous sobrieity "By The Grace of God". Some people are saying that a good holy mother who has raised good kids with love and who hunts and fishes and was governor of a state and is generally everything good about an American (not to mention quite good looking) is a moron. While the lying wretch of a man who stands for and does nothing good, so far, And is the complete embodiment of all that is despised about America e.g. takes from the middle class and gives to the rich and is beholding only to those who will kick back a vote (not to mention he looks like Howdy Doody) is intelligent. Those who criticized Sarah Palin above have exposed yourselves.

Too bad we've got children running the adminsitration otherwise had Palin been in charge, Putin wouldn't be so quick to expand his totalitarian state but since we've got obama and his SNL sidekick Biden in charge the world laughs as America diminishes its power. Had obama been vetted by the media he would have never been president and likely been what Clinton said "this guy would have been carrying our bags.' So typical of the racist left.

Right now Palin looks like an intellectual heavyweight compared to her critics who's only response is STILL "Oh yeah... well she's a stupid head!"!!

Look at the pseudo-intellectual (BIGOT) liberals on here attacking Palin. Trust me, I could care less about Sarah, but she does make good points on occasion. Liberals hate her over her rural Alaskan culture. So who are the narrow minded people in this debate? The liberals!

Palin may be easy to mock, but her instincts are good. Romney is also on record as having warned about Russian aggression. Obviously, dishonest people refuse to acknowledge the truth, particularly when spoken by conservatives.

Obama is great on foreign policy if you need someone to squirm into a room full of real leaders and give a one-kneed apology for US Exceptionalism. The effectiveness of a foreign policy focused on boot-licking leaves something to be desired when it comes to dealing with the aggressive likes of an Assad or Putin.

    Sarah with her 155 IQ
Put fear in the hearts of American and Foreign Democratic Socialists.
Putin and other cowards would not be so brave.
I look forward to the Palin/Cruz ticket
so we can begin the cleansing.
