Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Once again some one that the media made out to be stupid and well below the intelligences of Dear Leader and Messiah Obama, shows what a complete idiot Obama really is. He didn't see this coming and got our butts kicked after winning the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, now doesn't have the guts to take on Syria and has made more of his empty threats to Russia. The guy is a complete failure domestically or in foreign policy. It will take years to get this country back..

Sarah Palin predicted what has transpired between Russia and Ukraine ?

Yet she is in denial over the cause of climate change .

Putin is a strong leader for his country's interests. Obama is "Jimmy Carter Lite" ... and that is REALLY pathetic.

As to Palin, she was right and the MSM was wrong. And they don't like being shown as the incompetent, mysogenistic bigots they are.

As usual Obama lovers are aplenty here - they still think that Obama is the know it all, but really an inexperienced only full of lies and bouyed into office by bird brained people who dominate this liberal outlet!

Sounds like Palin forgot Georgia 2008 under Bush. Russia invaded after Bush warned them not to, and the US army evacuated. Georgia and it's U.S. backed army was crushed. Palin does not have a leg to stand on.

The number of things Governor Palin has been right about, and the corrupt lamestream media has chosen not to report is quite long.

Governor Palin had regular dealings with Russia. People forget Alaska's unique role. Alaska's National Guard is the only one that is permanently deployed, and as Commander-in-Chief, Governor Palin was regularly briefed on high level top security national defense issues. Governor Palin also shared strategic command of 49th Missile Battalion, our nation's strategic defense system from attacks from Russia, North Korea, etc.

On Governor Palin's watch, the 176th Air Defense Wing received the Air Force's Outstanding Unit Award part of that citation noted the 176th routinely escorted Russian Bear Bombers out of Alaskan air space.

If Plain was President, the world would be much safer.

Putin left office as president if Russia and became the Prime Minister of the country from 2008 – 2012. Then after some deal making he was re-elected president in 2012. An unheard of maneuver in Russia. Now in 2014 she wants to claim she was prescient enough to foresee all of that happening to make her absurd and inaccurate claim as something of a 'I told you so'. I guess she figured that all out while reading US Weekly and TV Guide! The woman is an absolute loon!

Of course she was right, just as she was with death panels. Too bad all she has is experience, intelligence, and common sense, and not that elite ivy league patina.

And yes, Tina Fey CAN see Ukraine from Palin's house, certainly.

Janet Napalitano had "international" experience as a Gov. of a border State, so did the Gov. of Alaska as the Gov. of a Border State. Where are the "tina feys" denouncing Janet's international experience? They lauded it. At least be consistent and Intellectually Honest.

When America is weak, the enemies of freedom grow strong. We have never had a more incompetant Commander in Chief. All the world's dictators are high-fiving themselves and laughing at Obama and Kerry.

The only reason America is "leading from behind" is that at its head is an ass.

Liberals prove that you don't need intelligence to be arrogant.
Saturday Night Live, Katy Couric, and many others should apologize to the country.
