The fighting Irish
Rep. Paul Ryan, a Wisconsin Republican, isn’t fazed by the family drama between tea party leaning and establishment members of the GOP. He says his Irish roots prepped him for Congress.
Bi-ignant.
Sure Republican Rep. Tim Scott of South Carolina said he wasn't exactly a stellar high school student and coined a new word for those like him who failed both Spanish and English: Bi-ignant.
No disr-spect
Speaking of new words, President Barack Obama had a little trouble both spelling and showing Aretha Franklin a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T while trying to honor the singer at the Women of Soul event at the White House. Good thing he stopped before he got to the part where Franklin rapidly sings “sock it to me.”
Trouble seeing the point?
Rep. Chris Van Hollen had just said that Republican Rep. Darrell Issa's dis of his Democratic colleague, Rep. Elijah Cummings, this week was "a sad day in the House." Maybe he was trying to bring Rep. Louise Slaughter to tears when he poked her in the eye before she took the podium.
