Washington (CNN) – Ready for Hillary, a super PAC urging former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016, is in New Hampshire on Tuesday, working to help influence a Granite State special election before voters go to the ballot box.
Although the move is unique for a national super PAC focused on the 2016 election, it could be considered an early investment that could later pay off in New Hampshire, which holds the first-in-the-nation presidential primary.

According to a source close to the group, Ready for Hillary has 20 volunteers working for Democrats in Tuesday’s elections, where voters will go to the ballot box to vote on a number of local issues and candidates.
In particular, the group is focusing their efforts on a special election to the state's five-member Executive Council where Democrat Mike Cryans is facing off against Republican Joe Kenney. The Executive Council is the executive body of New Hampshire that advises and checks the power of the state’s governor.
With New Hampshire playing such an outsized role in presidential elections, ties to the state’s Executive Council are important for prospective candidates.
"Ready for Hillary wants our supporters to know about today’s election and to get out and vote,” said Seth Bringman, spokesman for the super PAC. “This is a critical election for the Granite State, and our grassroots supporters are mobilizing.”
New Hampshire has a storied history with the Clintons. During his 1992 presidential run, then-Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton came back from dismal poll numbers in the state to finish second in the primary. For the second-place finish, Clinton was dubbed “The Comeback Kid,” and the momentum helped carry him to eventually securing the Democratic nomination.
Over the weekend, Ready for Hillary activists were in Iowa – another critical state in presidential elections – where the group worked to sign up supporters at Democratic county conventions throughout the state.
