Biden's heading to Ireland?

(CNN) - After some high-level lobbying, it appears that Vice President Joe Biden might soon be headed to Ireland.

“Biden wants to come to Ireland,” President Barack Obama said at the end of a meeting in the Oval Office with Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny on Friday.

“He lobbies me every week to go to Ireland. So I guarantee you he’ll get there,” Obama said.

On Thursday night, Biden received a personal invitation from Kenny while receiving an award at a gala for the American Irish Fund.

Kenny invited the vice president to unload his “golf sticks” from Air Force Two for a round at one of Ireland’s famous courses.

In response, Biden sparked speculation that a presidential run might be in his future with a joke that his game might suffer in the coming years.

"I don't know about you, but if you want to keep your handicap in golf, don't run for President,” Biden said. “So I expect strokes when we play."
