Washington (CNN) - House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Michigan, announced on Monday he will not run for reelection this year.
"This decision was reached after much consideration and discussion with my family," Camp said in a statement.
(CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who's considering a 2016 White House run, listed some names for "good" potential Republican presidential candidates, including two non-governors.
In an interview to air Monday night on Fox News Channel, Christie also hit back at critics who blasted him for appearing too close with President Barack Obama after Superstorm Sandy, which came just days before the 2012 presidential election.

INSIDE POLITICS: DEADLINE DAY FOR OBAMACARE … It’s Monday, March 31. Deadline Day for Obamacare. If you’ve procrastinated over the past six months and haven’t tried to log on to get insurance before today, you might encounter some hiccups. The healthcare.gov website had been functioning smoothly lately, but some users Monday morning encountered a message that read, “The system isn’t available at the moment. We're currently performing maintenance. Please try again later.” Problems with the website continued through the early afternoon. – Z. Byron Wolf

(CNN) - President Barack Obama jumped into the heated Democratic primary battle in his native state of Hawaii, backing incumbent Sen. Brian Schatz over Rep. Colleen Hanabusa.
Schatz, previously lieutenant governor, was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Gov. Neil Abercrombie in 2012 after the death of longtime Democratic Sen. Daniel Inouye.
Washington (CNN) - It's deadline day for Obamacare.
Monday's the last day of open enrollment to sign up for health insurance and avoid a penalty, through exchanges set up as part the federal health care law, formally known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
While there are sharp political disagreements over the measure, one thing's for sure: there has been more polling on the 2010 law than any other legislation in recent years. And the measure should be a major issue in the 2014 midterm elections, just as it was in the 2010 midterms and the 2012 presidential contest.
Washington (CNN) – The race to become the Democratic nominee for mayor of Washington, D.C. – a contest that was once defined by a crowded, fractured field – has become a head-to-head competition between incumbent Mayor Vince Gray and Muriel Bowser, a D.C. councilmember.
As voters head to the polls on Tuesday, Bowser has become the most likely challenger to unseat Gray, who a majority of voters believe knew of an illegal shadow campaign that helped him win the mayor's office in 2010.
Washington (CNN) - American Encore, a new conservative group created by outside money specialist Sean Noble, is airing a television ad in Nevada attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for proposing IRS regulations that would rein in outside political groups.
The minute-long spot features a clip of Reid on the Senate floor blasting the billionaire business titans Charles and David Koch, who have steered hundreds of millions of dollars to conservative causes in recent election cycles without disclosing their donors, "as un-American as anyone that I can imagine."
It’s Monday, March 31. Obamacare D-Day.
If you have procrastinated over the past six months and haven’t tried to log on to get insurance before today, you might encounter some hiccups.
The healthcare.gov website had been functioning smoothly of late, but Monday morning, some users encountered a message that read, “The system isn’t available at the moment. We're currently performing maintenance. Please try again later.”
There’s not too much “later” left. CNN's Jim Acosta reported Monday the site was unavailable in the early morning hours when a scheduled maintenance ran too long. It appeared by 8:30 that the site was again functioning, but record traffic slowed the site down and a queuing system was in place so that some visitors had to wait to proceed to their state’s enrollment section.
Washington (CNN) – It was a brief but fleeting reminder of the messy rollout of the Obamacare website. In the early morning hours of the final day of open enrollment, the government's health care website experienced technical problems as troubleshooters worked on a "software bug," a senior administration official said.
"System isn't available at the moment. We're currently performing maintenance," the message on HealthCare.gov said.
