Washington (CNN) - The Republican National Committee is touting that it's the first party committee to top $100 million in fundraising this election cycle.
"I'm thankful to everyone who helped the RNC raise over $100 million for the 2014 cycle, 1st committee to hit that mark. Big, big year ahead," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus tweeted Wednesday morning.

The party committee says it raised $95.6 million through February, and that when the RNC's March figures are added in, it will top $100 million.
While that's a hefty haul, it's behind the RNC's pace at this point in the last two midterm election cycles, in 2010 and 2006.
Through February, the rival Democratic National Committee raised nearly $79 million this cycle, behind its 2010 pace but ahead of what it brought in at this time in the 2006 election cycle.
While behind the RNC's pace this year, the DNC touts that it has outraised its GOP rival in three out of the past four months. And the DNC highlighted that it brought in nearly $2.5 million on-line last month, with more than half a million dollars raised on March 31 alone.
The DNC's and RNC's fundraising, as well as the two parties' House and Senate re-election committees, are closely watched as an indicator of party strength.
President Barack Obama heads to Chicago on Wednesday afternoon to serve as the main attraction at two fundraising events for the DNC, which brings to nearly 30 the number of fundraising events he's headlined for the party committee.
According to a party official, the President will attend a roundtable discussion for the DNC in Chicago. Approximately 25 supporters will attend, with each contributing up to $32,400.
Later, the President will attend a dinner reception at a private residence in Chicago with approximately 55 supporters each contributing up to $10,000.
