Fallon, dressed as Putin, calls Palin

(CNN) - Wearing a wig and what looked like a well-tailored Russian suit, Jimmy Fallon went into character as Russian President Vladimir Putin Wednesday on "The Tonight Show" and made a call to another participant in the skit: Sarah Palin.

"Hello, Miss Palin, it's me, Vladimir," he says.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee responds: "Vladimir? What are you doing calling me?"

"Putin" says he wants to know if it was true that Palin predicted a Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2008.

After she replies with her often-used catch phrase "You betcha, Vlad" the faux-Putin jokes that he once invaded a country called "You-Betcha-Vlad."

He asks her which country he should invade next, but she issues him a warning instead: "Get those troops out of Ukraine right now."

Putin calls her "Captain Buzz Kill," before adding that he could have used her "predicting powers" in his "office March Madness pool."

"My bracket's totally busted," he added. "How's your bracket doing?"

Palin thanks him for asking: "Bracket's good. You know, he's going to be six this month. Yeah. And Bracket just went out with Track and Jacket, and he shot his first bear."

The joke was a reference to the uncommon names of Palin's children: Track, Trig, Piper, Willow and Bristol.

"I come from strong genes" the fake Putin says with a thick Russian accent. "President Obama, he come from mom jeans."

Obama wants people to quit bashing his jeans

Towards the end of the skit, Fallon as Putin signals that he has to hang up because he needs to go pick up vodka from the store. But he laments, saying he wishes he had a neighbor who could pick some up for him.

"Well, actually," Palin says smiling, "Alaska's not that far from Russia. Hold on a second."

She gets up and walks across the split-screen to hand him a bottle. (Palin famously said in a 2008 interview that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.)

"Actually Alaska really is close to Russia," Putin says. "Maybe I should invade."

"I wouldn't if I were you, Vlad," Palin responds. "You may be able to take down a bear, but you're no match for a mama grizzly."

I would vote for Palin anyday over Obama. At least she has shown that she is capable of governing a state. What has Obama shown us? The only thing I have seen from him is that he is a total failure. I suppose if we put him back to being a commmunity organizer he might show us then what he is capable of doing. We Americans have really lowered our standards by voting for someone as indequate as Obama. We must be really desperate!!!!!!!

Rudy Say, Not half as much as "righties' hate the fact that Obama got Ben Laden after Bush had given up. Rudy, you are as full of *hit as a Christmas Turkey. Obama had intelligence generated in the Bush Administration but who's counting? No doubt intelligence abounds throughout the land. Now Rudy, and others, don't strain you brain trying to figure it out. Just call your nanny.

We Americans really lowered our standards by allowing the Supreme Court to choose the most unqualified person to ever hold the office of the president. Wars, recession, record job loss, tax cuts for the wealthy, are just a few examples of what republican leadership is. The worst part is, even though he almost destroyed the country, Bush named two justices to the Supreme Court that can finish off what he almost did.

The fact that you actually believe that is just so sad but it truly shows where your heart is. You are just a bitter bitter partisan who is no better than the small sliver of "righties" that feel that way. Please find me one "rightie" politician who has echoed that sentiment.
What so hard to believe about it? It's the truth. The right wing totally flipped out. They demanded evidence. They credited the people who carried out the raid. They've reached the point now where there are conspiracy theories that claim it was all another lie that's been told by the Obama administration.

Your stereotypical reality has no authority to admonish anyone about partisanship with your worship of Rand Paul.

Call me stupid but I do not think when we mean to be serious, we can take that serious issue as a joke at the same time. There must be a distinction between the two. What is Putin is doing is something anyone who is thinking right, must take it serious and put jokes aside. I know Jim Fallon is a Comedian, but do Comedians don't think what to make a joke of and what not to? If everything is laughable, then we will all end up as laughable matter/stuff/people!

Nope. She couldn't even make it half way. She quit after 18 months so that she wouldn't be prosecuted or impeached for her Troopergate scandal.

Once again, I love this woman. I don't know what I like more, the things she says or the way anything she does or says makes so many leftie hate mongers' heads explode.

Another thing while this is entertaining it really doesn't need to be in the realm of politics. CNN, I would and I am sure the rest of the country would appreciate and "benefit" from you making the POLITICs section more serious in its nature. For instance, instead of this article you could have discussions about the changes in voter registration being done in Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Ohio. You could just state the facts, inform the rest of America on what is happening. These subjects deserve A LOT more discussion than what they are getting. I mean I think millions of Americans would be amazed to hear how in some polling districts the Republican legislators are removing polling places so the Democratic areas have 5000 citizens per poll and the Republican would have less than half of that same figure. The results, the Democratic areas have to wait in line for HOURS while the Republican only have to wait MINUTES. They KNOW most people don't have that kind of time and hope they get disgusted and don't vote. It's not right and it needs to be exposed!!!
